This locale is off the main square so it's not well-trafficked - but that's good for those in the know who want excellent Italian and American food in a charming setting just off the side from the property pool and gardens. Great salads, good calamari,...More

Stopped here as part of a food tour. Tried a glass of their red and white wine made only for the restaurant. Both were very good. The homemade pizza was excellent. The hidden patio with the fountain was beautiful and I can see why people...More

My fiance and I were at a local wine shop and asked the gentleman that worked there for a dinner recommendation. He quickly suggested The Depot Hotel Restaurant. We took his advice and made a reservation. When we got there I was immediately impressed by...More

Nice garden setting for outdoor dining. From there it was downhill. Poor service from a forgetful waiter. Mediocre food. The salad was small and boring. The cannelloni was truly gooey and amateurish. They actually served us very stale bread. The dessert was not great. Another...More

Everything about this restaurant was home to me. It was beautifully appointed with excellent outdoor seating around a pool. The food from the sour dough bread to the Veal Parmesan was excellent. We also attended a wedding their the day before which was expertly handled...More

This place was supposed to be a gorgeous restaurant with great food. Its neither. Its tables set around a pool...not a very pretty pool. The food was also disappointing. Don't bother going to this restaurant.

Gracious hosts, delicious food, lovely atmosphere! The shimmering pool with fountain, and sparkling night lighting added to the romantic evening.

We went to The Depot for lunch and were so pleasantly surprised! It is off the beaten path and looks small. Once inside, we were seated around a pool and you felt as thought you were in a European cafe. The food was one of the...More

The building is very charming, the patio/fountain area was very nice. We were very excited to eat here and had high hopes based on so many positive reviews. It seemed as though the food came out WAY too quickly. We ordered the fritto misto and...More

Description
The DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT is a charming neighborhood restaurant located in an historic stone building just a block off the Plaza in Sonoma. Locals and visitors to the Wine Country enjoy casual Tuscan-inspired cuisine in the Vinoteca, in the cozy dining rooms, and on the terraces surrounding the shady Italian garden and reflection pool. Food is a passion at the DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT for the father and son Chef team--whether it is making house-made antipasti, or handmade pasta, or fresh ricotta. In addition to products made in-house, the Sonoma wine country around us offers an abundance of new artisanal products. The search for the best local products is a treasure hunt both chefs enjoy--whether from the coast, local farms, or local cheese makers. Come join us for a trattoria-style lunch or dinner...or just drop into our Vinoteca for informal small plates of antipasti and a glass of wine. Our focus is casual Italian comfort food--served in an informal Sonoma wine country atmosphere.
