A local friend took me for a tour of Napa Valley and we ended here for some nice wines that are not the usual big names. We decided to have some lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The service was great, not over the top but refreshingly personal. We bought some nice wines as well!

Low key easy tasting. For a few bucks you sample numerous local wines as they are not connected to a specific winery. We like to head to their back area down the alley for cheese and pasta tasting. We take out many items for eating at home. Their Resturant La Bodega over in Sebastopol is vet good too.

My wife and I sort of randomly found this place right off the plaza in Sonoma. Initially looking for just a place to purchase a couple bottles as opposed to tasting, we were met by Chef Rick Vargas in the entrance courtyard and he offered us some menu and tasting suggestions - and we couldn;t have been more pleased we... You will be delighted beyond belief at this quaint and unassuming little hideaway. Only vegetarian food is paired with the wine here. Believe me, if we all had access to vegetarian food like this, no animals would ever be considered for food again! Chef Rick Vargas is amazing and was practically born in his father's kitchen. Don't ever think to... More

Tucked down a narrow alley near the bottom end of charming Sonoma Square, the current cheese tasting is $11 for 5 or $19 for 10 cheeses. There are about 40 different cheeses in a fridge squashed into the end of the room. You're asked your preferences and to sit down outside (there's only one chair inside). We did not have... More

These guys have a small quaint little corner on the main square in Sonoma but they will make you feel at home! They will pair your wine with your cheese and personal tastes. They will take the time to explain the small wine batches they carefully choose from local and not so local wine makers. The food is vegetarian (no... More

La Bodega Cheese Shop specializes in local cheeses, and Sonoma is known for it's great cheese. The price for a tasting about $15 for ten cheeses but the tasting fee is waived if you buy cheese, and you probably will. They will tailor your cheeses to your taste (strong/mild, hard/soft). The courtyard is very pleasant to sit in but there... More

This seems to be more of a wine/cheese tasting place than a restaurant, but given that it had a menu outside, it suggested more. We found a tiny kitchen area at the back of an arcade, with a single table only, not realising that there was a larger part of the restaurant across the courtyard. Undeterred the staff were happy...
