I've been going to the Hideaway for years. The service is always good and friendly. The food is home-cooked style and always good. There are other good breakfast places, but I'd put this one first on your list before trying any others.

My parents had gone here many years ago, so we decided to visit it again. The place is very clean and cute on in the inside, even though it is an old garage on the outside. The ladies running the place were super sweet and quick, we got out in almost 25-30 minutes. The cinnamon roll was probably the best... More

We had great service. The wait staff was very nice. They said they have worked there for over 20 years. The prices were good for California. Cute little quirky place in an out of the way place. We stumbled upon it after walking from the park.

Food is very good and plentiful. Well known place to locals. Tiny place with tables inside and out. Friendly people. Place has been there forever and is a favorite of mine.

The sisters who work here are the best! If I lived closer I would be a regular. Our timing was perfect-tables available and cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven followed by the biggest danish I've seen in a while. Had the spinach and bacon omelette with Jack cheese and avocado-so good! It comes with your choice of potatoes and... More

Cruising done 101 going from beach to beach creates a mighty good appetite. I was browsing TripAdvisor for good eats and came across the Hide a Way Cafe! Great place to stop! It is the perfect eclectic diner we try to find on our trips. The place was packed but service was swift. The coffee was excellent and food was... More

When out and about with my mom-n-law we frequently stop here for a late breakfast or lunch. Always friendly and love their breakfast. The avocado salad is excellent too. The two ladies that run the place are super nice.

If you are after a locals spot with an intimate setting and great food this is the cafe for you. The seasoned staff are welcoming and charming. Plus it's the best value in Solana Beach!

We had a fine breakfast at this little local spot - the kind where the waitress knows the regulars will be having "the usual." It's also a place where you don't have to spend at least $10 to get a couple of eggs and toast. We particularly enjoyed the kaleidoscope plate and the cinnamon bun - so big we enjoyed... More

If you are looking for a no frills delicious breakfast or lunch in Solana Beach, then this is the place. So small, it feels a little claustrophobic inside, but the outdoor seating worked for us. I enjoyed the avocado omelet and my husband had a veggie sandwich. The portions were hefty and the food was fantastic. Also, their lemonade was... More
