. by the kudos on the wall, I expected an exceptional dining experience. What I got was lukewarm and highly overrated. Definitely not worth the time or money

Traditional Japanese with a wonderful chef. Everything we ordered was very good. The service was spectacular. If you want to visit this restaurant, make a reservation. Tables fill up fast.

Ramen is very good and is a balanced meal. The chef greets you well and there is a room where the chef gives you what he thinks you would like.

I was happy to find a place that didn't cater to Western tastes by forcing dragon rolls and California rolls with crab substitute down your throat. They have only a few sushi items on the menu- but I am sure they could probably come up with more if you asked specifically. Regardless of what you see in an online menu... More

This is a great sushi house on the corner of 18th and S Street. The prices are reasonable and there is a good happy hour menu. I had the double crab roll and it was large and tasty. We had a very good time and the staff was cordial and prompt. You won't go wrong here.

First off, the menu is all very traditional Japanese food. They do offer sashimi platters if you order ahead of time. Everything we ordered was extremely salty and the bill was quite pricey for everything that we got. Service was great though.

On the evening of March 6, 2015 I had dinner at Hachi Ju Hochi Restaurant in Saratoga. Hachi Ju Hochi is housed in a rather old space with cement slab floors ( red tile in the kitchen ) and tables and chairs that have also been there for a while. When you walk in you are first stunned to see... More

If you're looking for sashimi (raw fish), teriyaki (stir fry), raman (noodle soup), or katsu (fried pork/chicken cutlet), DO NOT come here. Hachi Ju Hachi serves delightful dishes with simple and light flavors. Many people seeking bold flavors will find this food bland. However, if you enjoy savoring the subtle tastes of non-extravagant but thoughtfully prepared dishes, you'll enjoy this... More

Our first experience here was excellent, adequate service and very good, interesting food. Ao we went back with friends. What a disappointment. The waitress make several mistakes on the order so food did not come in expected timing. The teriaki chicken was too dry, and the grilled pork belly, the highlight of our first visit, appeared steamed rather than grilled.... More

Coming from Tokyo, I always get excited and want to support a Japanese owned restaurants and this one was no exception. I read the reviews before making a reservation and I saw both positive and very negative reviews but I was hoping for the best. Unfortunately, this restaurant literally sucks. I was so very embarrassed to bring our friends and... More
