Today I went back to Rabalais for the meatloaf dinner again. Very good both times. Bigger and better this time. For sides I had the baked sweet potatoes and collard greens. We sat on the front patio and had beignets for dessert. I also ordered a Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout beer. If you like stout beer, give it a try.... More

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all excellent. The Tuesday night fried chicken dinner is just like grandmothers made. Fried green tomatoes are a treat as are the greens, grits and po'boys. Can't beat the red beans and rice either. And the bakery items are fantastic.

Really cute place and very dog friendly. We sat on the patio with our chocolate lab and she was really comfy. The chicory coffee was wonderful, the beignets were good (very large). I had the Croque Madame and the gf had the Croque Monsieur. They were pretty good, but I didn't like the dijonaisse used...it disagreed with me the rest... More

We had a blast on Mardi Gras night, at this fine dining establishment. Great food, great service! Our only complaint and that's our fault, was we didn't think we'd need a reservation on a sleepy Tuesday night in Santa Paula! Boy we were wrong, it was MARDI GRAS! We had to wait an hour, and luckily someone canceled so we... More

I saw grits on the menu and knew this place was legit. But when they accomodated my request to doctor up the grits a bit, I was WOWed by their extraordinary service. Yet the best was when I asked if they had any hot sauce. Buyer beware...Dave's special hot sauce caused me to sweat out of pores I didn't even... More

A very good local restaurant. Always friendly and welcoming. Love their soup! My husband is a vegetarian and very picky and he found a really nice dish that was NOT pasta primavera!!!!

Beautiful restaurant, unique food seldom found in this area and well-prepared, Service was lacking. Group of 9 for lunch - we made reservations so the size was not a surprise. Food orders came out haphazardly and slowly - as much as an hour and a half. Soup was served with the main course. Some orders were incorrect. Although I have... More

We needed to have breakfast here as our hotel did not offer that option. GREAT coffee place with a fantastic bakery with freshly baked goodies for breakfast, and a warm breakfast menu that starts at 8am. Fantastic interior with old photos of california's past and great atmosphere with a piano being played on and off by passer-by's.

This restaurant was recommended by our waiter at Enzo's (where we had dinner) as a good breakfast. We live in the South and I have been to New Orleans many times. While it didn't live up to my lofty expectations, it was a very good breakfast. Good coffee. Biscuits and gravy not as good as I am accustomed to; but... More
