I've eaten at several Le Pain Quotidien restaurants, primarily in Santa Monica. It's a favorite with my running group for post-run breakfasts. The coffee is excellent as is the assortment of breads, the omelettes and the Avocado Toast. The service is often s l o w but it's always friendly. At the two locations I frequent, there are outdoor patios... More

Anyone looking for a real coffee or real bread needs to have breakfast or lunch here. Very good service and great food. Waiter engaged well with our kids and service was genuine. Many thanks

The first thing you notice when you walk in is an odd smell, never did work out what it was, drains maybe. Any how, not really impressed by the food, had an apple turnover and cranberry scone. Well they both turned up on one plate, no knives, had to ask. No offer of butter or cream to accompany the food.... More

Favorite cafe in Santa Monica for seriously yummy & nitric iota food & drinks. Highly recommend Tartines: Fresh Hummus and Harrisa . Mint tea. Just a surprise how lovely its tastes when it's real. Bowl cups a quirky touch Their home made bread is a treat. Staff consistently mellow and subtly personal & attentive without being intrusive. USD$

Le Pain Quotidien does offer some organic ingredients, which beats the competition. We love some of the pastries.

Stopped there for a quick late lunch and was astonished by the prices and then what I received. Being French and missing good bread I thought this would be the answer to my prayers. Boy was I wrong! The prices looked quite high on the menu but I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I ordered what the y call... More

This cafe is in the heart of the shopping/eating/being bit of Santa Monica. It attractive (rustic style with a communal table as well as smaller tables). The food (we had a croissant ) and coffee and hot chocolate were nice but it was really expensive. I guess the location has a bearing on this, if I'm being kind. Or it... More

Maybe I just don't "get it", but I felt the place was trying way too hard, and charged way too much for really average food. I ordered a smoked salmon breakfast and a hot chocolate for breakfast, and I believe it cost me over $20. The food was really average, it was basically just some slices of smoked salmon with... Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
