It was pretty bad. They claimed (not in writing) that they use non gmo corn, but sure did get a belly ache. Moles and other sauces were made with flour so were not suitable for gluten free folks. The cochinita pibil was dry and stringy and tasteless. My friend ordered tamales that were bland and mediocre. I did not see... More

Food is always hot and the service is great. Get a reservation if you can. It can get busy. I've been coming here for years and I'm never disappointed. The Margarita's are outstanding. I was pleased that the manager remembered us and got us right in as there was quite a wait.

Good food isn't worth the long wait to be served. Recently - servers have forgotten orders, delivered wrong food, redelivered the previously delivered food and and have mixed-up the checks. Maybe there has been a management change. I really like the place, yet hope they get it together soon.

Good basic Mexican food - nothing exotic. Good portions at reasonable prices. Consistent on two recent visits. If you go on a weekend, it gets crowded and they will sit a party of 4 at a table barely suitable in size for 2 - make a reservation or forget about the fajitas - no room on table even for the... Stopped by, late on a Saturday afternoon. My friend and I shared a pitcher of skinny margaritas, shrimp ceviche tostada, and lobster taquitos. We left full and satisfied. The shrimp ceviche was really fresh and flavorful and our margaritas were delicious too. I really enjoyed our casual afternoon snack and sitting on the patio. Service was friendly and our waiter... In the mood for Mexican cuisine after a few days in Santa Monica, and Lula had decent reviews and was close by so we decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise awaited us with the outstanding service we received, accompanied by terrific food quickly served. Decor is a bit garish and from the outside you may briefly... More

You walk into this restaurant for the first time, and suddenly it's as if you've been there for lunch every day for the past year. No frills. Quiet but not empty. And the wait staff smiles right at you and at your request, steps in to help with the menu. They make recommendations. You eat. Voila. Delicious.

We stopped by for lunch while touring the city and enjoyed the wonderful Margaritas and good food. While some of the menu is no doubt authentic, I was disappointed that the tortillas were advertised on the menu as freshly made but were obviously not when they arrived with my dish. My chicken tacos and black beans, however, were still good... More

The moment I entered Lula's I was blown away by the amazing, imaginative decor. What a treat and totally unexpected. The Cal-Mex food was quite good and the wait staff was very helpful. Beware! The yummy margaritas are deceptively potent. Next time I'll opt for one, not two!!

Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
