Great location, light and bight ground floor restaurant looking out over the sand at Santa Monica. The tuna was wonderful and salads fresh. Would love to breakfast here next time. Great way to cap off a stroll from Venice Beach and make it a day out.

Lunch here provides great views of the beach and delicious, fancy menu items such as wagyu beef burgers. Great for business discussions, but priced for the business community also.

The view is terrific. The menu has a nice selection. The food is good but not great. On the night we went the Chef was focused on a table in the corner and the staff were too busy socializing with each other to provide the type of service we would have expected. We would go back but hope our service... More

It's a beautiful restaurant, in a lovely location, a bit pricy and just a bit stuffy. I didn't feel very welcomed. It was like getting on a flight. If you aren't in first class they want to make sure you know it.

Wonderful dinner with great entrees. The tuna was awesome and so was the tortilla soup. Friendly wait staff. We contemplated going back another night.

Very nice casual dining in the heart of Santa Monica Beach. You can walk out and enjoy the day at the beach. The selection of menu items is very good.

Great atmosphere- nice menu selection but know that you will pay for the ambience when the bill comes. Delicious food, good service and great location and ambience. Feels good to be there- nothing on the menu for less than about $15 for a starter, $8 for a piece of ciabatta bread, $5 for a small loaf of bread (8 thinly... More

Traveled to Cali in Sept-Oct 2016 and we chose this place for dinner due to its location. Food was great, service very friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing view, sunset was spectacular, will definitely be back.

Amazing Waffles and probably the best cup of coffee anywhere. The Virginia Bacon is worth ordering extra on the side if that is your thing too! Great service and wide range of selection for all ages. My daughter loved watching the beach strandwalkers from our table. Cute Vineyard Vines outfits -- its sunny in there even when raining outside.

Description
Yes, Coast is a casual beachfront cafe and bar. Chilled Chardonnay, spicy guacamole, and warm tortilla chips await; imaginative chefs and California-inspired dishes take the prize. But Coast is also a state of mind.

It's the moment you breathe in the ocean air, the second you realize maybe you don't have to go to the office after all. Or even call in. Then you can finally exhale. Coast is where you want to spend the afternoon, any day of the year. Happy Hour, a communal table, a beachside cafe and bar, whether you are walking in off the sand with your family in tow, or meeting up for a cocktail and plate of fries, Coast is the perfect Santa Monica Restaurant to enjoy dining on the coast.

When it comes to Santa Monica beach restaurants, there's no place like Coast. This is eating, drinking, beaching, relaxing at its most family-friendly, casual, and delicious. Did we mention the view of the Pacific Ocean?

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
