An Experience to Remember. The food was not only Delicious but so Beautiful! There were some courses that were bold and some that were light. The many different flavors, smells and the beauty of how it was all put together made for an Dining Experience that will never be forgotten. Staff was incredible and the Chef even came out to... Clearly the best restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Every experience is unrivaled. A variety of prix fixe menus with additional special menus such as for Valentine's Day. From the amuse bouche to the appetizers to the entrees, each dish is a surprise with unique combinations and presentations. Service is magnificent without being ostentatious although prices are commensurate with the... More

We were here with a good sized group and they did a fantastic job. I was not crazy about the amuse bouche- some foam concoction that none of us figured out- but we were flying high after that. A terrific chestnut soup, a perfectly done flat iron steak( the portion was fine for me but I think some men might... More

I was vastly impressed by Mélisse in my last visit. The attention to detail was immense and the level of service was spot on. A proper tasting menu at its finest, each dish seemed to be perfectly balanced in taste and size - neither overly complicated nor pretentiously reductive. The highlights for me were the razor clams and the icelandic... More

So I take my girlfriend out for her birthday to Melisse weeks ago. The ambiance was ok and the food, was on the very smaller portion side but still very tasty, The "bad taste in my mouth" that lingers to today is how can a bill for two at the minimum $300 also have added on a 3% to "help"... More

This restaurant is a prize for everyone who enters, even with all the hot new restaurants popping up around it. Chef Josiah Citrin and his kitchen staff consistently serve up some of the best fine dining in all of L.A.. So if you've got the company card, or you've saved up for that special/romantic dinner, or maybe you can just... More

World class fine-dining. Deserves 3 Michelin Stars. Get the 10 or the Carte Blanche menu. Wine pairings too. Staggeringly-good food. When I see other restaurants being lauded on this site - it makes me not want to ever come back here for a reference. Ridiculous that anybody with a laptop can be a reviewer. This restaurant is terrific. Best in... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
