I had read that this place was internationally recognized for their fish & chips so I had to try them. They were pretty good....the batter was unlike anything I have had before! The drinks were good and the service was awesome!

I just don't understand how ANY restaurant can stay in business with food this bad. There's really not much else to say. It's a casual eatery, so I wasn't exactly expecting beef Wellington served by white-gloved waiters, but this bad I did not expect. From the sounds coming from the other rooms near - or in - the bar, I'm... More

We always enjoy coming here for the English favorites on the menu. Parking is a bit problematic and I wish that their web site would mention the public parking structure around the corner on 2nd St. The place is very cozy and I love the painting of Sir Winston which adorns one of the walls. Service on this visit, my... More

Just a perfect place for a little rest and fabulous, cold beer after a long walk at the Palisades Park. They have many great varieties of beer. My favorite is served with an orange. The food is just OK.

Classic spot in Santa Monica. I usually don't like places on tourist maps but this place is an exception. Great English beers. The fish and chips are very good but also try the chicken curry. Very good pub food.

Ye Olde King's Head is a fair approximation of a British public house, serving fare of somewhat higher quality than might be found in an actual British pub. It is loud with credible service and a friendly vibe.

Found this pub while wondering around Santa Monica and ended up coming back for lunch as my partner fancied something "English" to eat. Pub/restaurant was very busy seats inside and outside all full. We assumed there would be a long wait due to the amount of people there. But we were seen to ordered and served within 15 minutes. They... More

Good beer, decent pub food and a lively atmosphere lend a welcoming feel to this place. It seemed strange to choose an English pub i such a classic California destination but it served us well on a jetlagged evening in need of comfort food and beer.

Lived in Santa Monica for over three years until 2015 and this place was one of our regular stops for lunch and also for enjoying Premiership football (soccer to non Brits) over a few beers. There's a healthy contingent of ex-pats here who will welcome new residents and visitors to the area. The restaurant has a good selection of British... More

Dinner time in Santa Monica on nice August weekend cant become challenging. Long waits at many restaurants we decided to try this pub. The food is average at best, but with limited options it was best we could do.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
