On our way to San Luis Obispo we stopped for gas and saw this restaurant advertising that they have the best Santa Maria style BBQ tri-tip. We enjoyed our lunch, the BBQ tri-tip was delicious, no need for any A-1 sauce; it came with garlic bread, and choice of 2 sides.

We enjoyed the food as always and even order the lasagna to go for our daughter, that was home study. It was put together so well,I will never fear ordering to go again. Great job everyone!

I remember having great meals here with friends and was looking forward to sharing the experience with my son for the first time. The food was flavorless! Definitely not how I remember.

You can't go wrong at Pappy's! Filling, cheap, and many options. You must add a cup of barbed wire chili to your meal. The restaurant was very busy when we visited at lunch. We will stop again if in the area.

My cousin, Jane, took me to Pappy's for an authentic Taste of Santa Maria California. However if this was the authentic taste I'm not impressed. First of all, I ordered my tri-tip sandwich with cheddar instead of Swiss. When it got there it was a lovely-looking sandwich however it was Swiss. I pointed it out to the waitress, who said... Breakfast was just ordinary. Have heard great things about this place but food was just ok. Place was packed though.

Food is great, but need TLC and staff is not friendly. There is a burnt grill smell in the place. Some people out of my 12 people party did not want to go there because of the burnt smell. I am originally from Santa Maria and have always loved Pappys under Mr Torres ownership. However it is an old building... More

Pappys has been our "go to" place for the last few years, not any more! We've been they're 3 times in the last 2 months and each time it's the same. The food is horrible and the service is not much better. It smells like burnt oil every time you walk in, hello someone please change the oil in those... More

Came with family for a late lunch. The kind of place where locals go. I ordered Tri-tip melt. It was good but the meat was a little tough for me. Service was friendly.

The restaurant is old. The food we were served was not good. We thought the chicken soup would be something our 5 year-old daughter would eat. It was bland and flavorless. My wife and I both couldn't finish our meals due to the poor taste/quality.
