Happy Hour is a good time to frequent Hula's Island Grill - the HH menu offers some great choices at reasonable prices and good portion sizes. There is ample seating for parties of any size though the bar is nice and lively with entertaining bartenders who know all the locals and talk surfing and snowboarding. You won't regret going!

Hula's is a pacific tiki themed restaurant and bar in downtown Santa Cruz.Surf videos play all day in the bar and front room and the themed room in the back is a 60s throwback with grass mat walls etc. My kids love it. The food is average. I usually have one of the rice bowls. Some are spicy some not.... More

Interesting menu, open later than most restaurants in SC, and a fun decor. Try the pork buns or Hawaiian dishes

I enjoy coming to this place for happy hour at the bar. 6 dollar Mai Tais , Hurricanes etc.The drinks pack a punch even when they don't have punch in them.6 dollar bar bites..I like the shrimp cocunut rolls, chicken wings, ceviche and pulled pork sliders. The bartenders are always busy and friendly. Sitting at the bar is friendly on... More

Tuesday happy hour is all day. Half price drinks and appys. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The place was packed from 5 pm on. They will take reservations. The food was excellent. The rib eye steak dinner was superb, very tender and tasty. The calamari is wonderful, it almost tastes like abalone. I think we had every apply... More

Our appetizers were amazing. We had the ceviche and seaweed salad. Both tasted very fresh. Our mains were just ok, nothing to say that was terribly bad, but generally disappointing compared to the appie experience.

This Hawaiian restaurant offers a good selection of offers for grownups and kids. All very fresh. And sizes of portions are slightly smaller than normal and hence easier to finish. The interior is inspired by Hawaii and surf culture.

Was an interesting experience. They sat us in a room all by ourselves when the main room had empty tables, felt like we were being stuck off in a corner. Service good though and fish was very good, had the Ono, Hula's pan fried ... yum! About half way thru our meal though, 2 guys started sawing and hammering on... More

We stopped in for dinner and drinks with friends on a rainy Saturday night. The rain didn't keep people away as the bar was crowded and we had to wait for our table. The drinks were tasty and the bartender was friendly and quick. The decor has a fun tropical theme. When we got our table our server was very... More

Went there the first day of restaurant week, which may have been a mistake as they may have needed some time to iron problems out. For appetizers we had the shrimp rolls (good) and the Hawaiian ceviche (great). For mains, this is the first time I've ever tasted pulled pork that was totally lacking in flavor. It seemed to be...
