We were getting tired of pizza, Mexican, fast food...at the end of our vacation so we opted for Cajun. The restaurant is fun and accommodating. We ordered Crawfish Etouffe which was flavorful, and not too salty. We also tried the scallops. Wonderfully broiled in a light sauce. The waitress came by prior to the meal with a sealed card. Once... More

So now you know, Kirsten: we love any excuse to celebrate. Glad to hear you had fun joining in on our musical productions! Likewise, I'm happy to see you enjoyed our Cajun cooking -- I look forward to sharing this with our team. If you're ever in Santa Barbara again, stop in for a singalong! Some restaurants manage a combination of atmosphere, service, food and drink in which the sum is far more than the parts. Such is the case with the Palace Grill. I have been eating here for over 15 years and never had anything but a great meal and experience. In recent visits a shared sampler plate and Red Stripe beer has... More

It is so wonderful to hear from loyal customers like you who have been visiting us for years. And that we're one of your favorite restaurants, not just in the nation, but the world? Stellar. That makes our day -- no, our year. Our bread pudding soufflé is one of our favorites too. Have you also tried the chocolate soufflé?... More

I have eaten here many times, and will eat here every opportunity I have in Santa Barbara. You just can't beat a restaurant that has outstanding service, GREAT food, drinks that are worth their money, and a friendly atmosphere. The Oysters Cajun are unbelievable! And so are the Oysters Rockefeller. My husband and I wanted to split a filet that... More

I think I know what you're trying to describe here -- we call it the "Palace Experience." It sounds like you enjoy experiencing good food in good places and I'm very happy to hear that you and your husband enjoyed the filets (and the Oysters Cajun is one of our favorites too!). Thank you for letting us know how much... More

We were a little surprised given the glowing reviews. The food is average although the menu descriptions would have you believe that you are in for a culinary feast. My salmon had definitely got to know the oven for longer than it should have done. None of the others were that inspired by their food. The waitress was fine but... More

Thank you for the feedback! It's great hearing from travelers who came a long way to visit us. It's a little disappointing to hear you didn't enjoy the lively atmosphere we're known for, but off nights can happen. And I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your salmon. I suggest the Palace Sampler next time for a variety of... More

We found this restaurant by accident as we were walking by. We stopped for lunch. We were so glad that we did. The service was very friendly. You don't just have one server, a whole group takes care of you. My son had the jambalaya sauce piquantly. He ate all of it. He said it was delicious. I had the... More

Happy accidents do happen! It's great hearing from people who have stumbled upon our place and were impressed enough to leave us a review. This place was packed with people who all appeared to be having a good time. Of course we had to go in. My boyfriend and I were seated quickly and got service in no time. We each ordered wine, which was good and reasonably priced. I had the jambalaya and he had the veal medallions. Both were super delicious. I... More

Initially, I was a little leery as this restaurant was selected by a friend and I'm a vegetarian. However, I'm so happy I came. First of all, the atmosphere is incredible. I came on a Wednesday night and it was packed, but luckily we were able to be seated quickly. The walls were covered in unique decor and there were... More

This place is just a lot of fun. They serve up pretty good Cajun cuisine, but the experience you get here is worth a stop in. The gumbo is really good, as is a lot of the seafood that they serve. I also always enjoyed the Chicken Tchoupitoulas-something you won't find many places in California. I would avoid the Cajun... More

The waitresses were very attentive and fun and the ambiance was true to New Orleans. However, I cannot endorse the lunch menu. I ordered an oyster po boy as it is a favorite of mine from many visits to New Orleans. (Including two brunches at the original Palace Grill. I had to send the sandwich back as I had difficulty...
