Based on some other reviews I was hoping the food would be a bit better. I ordered a charbroiled mussel and salmon bisque and unfortunately wasn't able to finish them. The mussels, although flavored nicely, were way over done. The salmon bisques flavor was marred by an overabundance of roux not cooked properly or just plain flour. My dining companions... More

In between wine tastings and found this place. Lunch was ok. The hamburger was good as was the steak tacos. The salmon chowder was not good. If you are looking for an average lunch at reasonable prices, this is it.

Still Incredible! Great friendly service, charming, clean everywhere. Four of us from out of town ate here Friday Jan 20, 2017. It has been far too long since I visited SB, Paradise Cafe was still as good as I remember it. Three of us are world travelers. I have never been off the continent. The calamari sandwich was every bit... More

I visited Paradise Cafe from the recommendation of a business partner. I went out of my way just to stop here on my month long trip out west. I was told to try the burger. Being from the midwest, I know and enjoy eating a lot of great beef. But I wanted to get my fill of fresh seafood. Nonetheless,... More

It was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara when we were lat there, so we wanted to get a quick pick-up lunch and take it to the beach to eat outside. We found Paradise Cafe -- which was perfect and exactly what we were wanting. I got the tacos and my husband got the burger, and both were excellent. They... More

This restaurant has been established since 1983, and it is located one block away from State Street. It is located in a converted house, and there are three distinct areas- an indoor dining area, an outdoor patio and a bar. I had a very pleasant dinner- starting with the soup of the day, a lovely salmon chowder, followed by a... More

I have eaten here for many, many years. I love the ambiance and the fact that you can eat at their bar until late. Burger is honest; salads and fish dishes are good. Stay away from their pastas.

The outdoor patio was shaded and appealing, you were right in the heart of Santa Barbara and the kinetic ambiance was exciting yet relaxed. I ordered the open face sirloin sandwich with a yummy Greek salad. I will absolutely return again and again.

This is a great landmark in Santa Barbara. Best to eat outdoors if weather is good, this is a favorite of locals. Really solid food and dedicated staff, this is a friendly consistent restaurant. We go back regularly. Also, a great happy hour.

Another SB local favourite, Paradise café serves burgers and more that take you just a little closer to paradise for dinner. We sat outside and our friends seemed to know moat of the people there. Always a good sign. There was plenty on the menu but our friends ordered burgers so we did too. Thick, succulent beef patties with a... More

Description
Located in a 1915 vintage brick and stucco building that once housed an Italian bakery, and La Paloma Cafe, this landmark building has been the home of Paradise Cafe since 1981. Customers can enjoy Paradise Cafe on the heated patio, in the dining room, or the art deco-inspired bar. The Paradise Cafe has the first and only grill to use Santa Maria live oak wood in the city of Santa Barbara. We specialize in prime steaks, fresh fish, and of course, our famous Paradise Burger broiled over the first and only live oak wood grill in Santa Barbara. Combine that with our fabulous vegetarian entrees, pastas, soups, salads, and our Decadent Paradise Pie, and we have something for every palate!
