We were looking for something different for my husband's birthday lunch and we were very pleased with everything about Cold Spring Tavern. Service was very casual and friendly, but at no time did we feel ignored. Three people working on a busy Wednesday and each one checked with us throughout our meal to make sure that we did not need... More

This place is so cool. Its an OLD Western saloon tucked into the mountainside that was built in the 1860's. The decor is fun and funky with old antiques and creeky floors. Did I mention the food? Its REALLY good. Looking for good home cooking or BBQ this is it. They also have a Tri-Tip Barbeques on Sat & Sun... More

Definitely stop at this historic location off highway 154 just north of Santa Barbara for some amazing smoked tri-tip and wild game chili. Waits can be long especially around noon and the service and execution can be less than ideal but the food rocks.

We were 7 plus a baby. I suggest reservations so you can be seated right away there is usually a long wait. The atmosphere is cozy warm and comfortable. Crowded yet we could converse without any noise problem. The food is very good! Service was normal friendly staff. Parking is along the twisted road so take the spot that you... More

Went with a party of 7 over New Years weekend. Even though we didnt have a reservation we were seated quickly. Everyone at the table LOVED their food. My friend and I had the Tri-Tip and it is OUTSTANDING!!! My husband had the buffalo burger and claims it is one of the best he has ever had. Order the onion... More

My out-of-town family LOVE this place! And as a local, I often forget it's even there! So, during the holidays we all made the trek up the hill and over the pass to the tavern for a Boxing Day lunch. It really does feel like stepping back in time...authentic buildings, a tranquil waterfall, lush greenery, fascinating relics decorating the interior...... More

If you love history & amazing outdoor experiences this is for you. Away from the city it is Remote but easy to get to, a step back in time, it's literally unchanged from the 1800's. Rustic , historical & a beautiful setting . You can't help but imagine yourself on a stage coach from back in the day .

The food was just ok, but well worth the trip just due to how cool the building and surrounding area was. I had the venison sandwich, but if I went back I would try something else. Not bad, just not worth repeating that meal.

You go for the experience. A really intriguing location with historical significance. Tried the chili sampler, which was a bit bland. My wife had the regular burger, I had the bison burger.. they tasted the same. They were enormous, though. And fresh and hot. The service was California surfing dude, but very chill. A fun lunch

For me, this was a blast from the past. My parents had their wedding party there in 1963. They knew the owner very well, and my mom grew up less from a mile from there. For someone that hasn't been there before, go fr the historical value. Have lunch in a old roadhouse that has not changed in at least... More
