About
We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Santa Barbara Harbor. You’ll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at this true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the “small” menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the “long” menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals’ favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.

Great clam chowder, views and service but the rest of the food was pretty bad. The sea bass and calamari were over cooked and dry plus the seafood pasta was bland. Come for the view and clam chowder but do not expect much from the...other dishes......More

Good location overlooking marina and buzzy atmosphere - menu had lots of seafood options but food pretty unremarkable. We had lots of local recommendations for ythis place but our experience was just average!

We were looking for a place to get a dinner and we’re recommended to go to Brophy’s We never expected the place to be so busy on a Monday night boy was that place jumping The host was spot on when she told us. We...have a 40 minute wait so we didn’t get seated until 8 o’clock. The service was excellent. The food was very good. The clam chowder is a must have. The noise level is a little high, but everyone was having a good time night Well, our food was very good and served well by obviously very well trained and organized staff We would recommend this restaurant for good food and a fun experienceMore

Popular spot with great views of the wharf. It’s a busy place and noisy but the service and the food were excellent. I would suggest getting there early.

I may have just had the best salmon salad I have ever had in my life. It was a party in my mouth. It was recommended by the staff at the motel where I stayed.

This restaurant is the perfect fish and shell fish restaurant I like the most. Simple, fresh and down to earth next to the sea. That means no fancy white table cloths or christal glasses, just down to earth the simple fresh product to your plate....The servants know what they serve and are very willing to help you out when in doubt.More

Situated on the water in the harbor, Brophy Bros offers a wide array of seafood at reasonable prices for Santa Barbara. My wife and I both ordered Louie Salads which were large and filling. Our server was great. We sat on the covered outdoor patio...which was protected from the elements by a plastic enclosure.More

We stopped in for lunch today and so happy we did. Even though it was crowded we received excellent service from not only our waitress but also the attentive bus boys/men and the entire staff. The food was hot and delicious, the atmosphere was warm...and bustling, and the view of the harbor was lovely. Thanks!More

Great food and service. Had the fish and chips, delicious. Wife had clam chowder and seafood pasta, also delicious. Wait times don’t seem Too bad as they take your number and text you when ready. There are several areas to walk around which makes the...time pass quickly. Staff is very attentive and makes sure you are well taken care of, but not to the point of being annoying.More

Brophy's has THE best clam chowder ANY where - and I've had my share being from the California coastal area and husband the East Coast. We had the most lovely experience there as well, as the owners are genuinely so down to earth, take time...to chat, are utterly wonderful and fun !!! We had their amazing chowder to start. The clams were plentiful and I do mean plentiful, so fresh and meltingly tender. Creamy and just the right amount of spices, and not too many potatoes which I appreciate. They might have snuck some sort of wine in there, it was to addictive LOL ! Their bread too is amazing ! I had their garlicy huge scallops in linguini SO DARN GOOD, and my husband their seabass, also killer good and a huge portion. Eating outside made our memorable dining experience the best ! Kudo's to this locally owned restaurant who made our visit so very memorable - PS - I raved about their chowder so much, the adorable owner came over with a to-go bag with a pint of chowder and bread to take with us ! HUGS to her !!!!! Cheers !!!!! Marcia and Tim, a 4-hour drive away easily to be done again and again :-)More

An active place. Noisy in a nice way. People were having a nice time. The servers were very nice and accommodating. The physical surrounding fit a dockside eatery. The food was average. The New England clam chowder was not like the clam chowder I’ve had...in New England. I found it bland. Probably due to different clams. The swordfish was also bland. Not very tasty.More

The guy on the information desk at the Santa Barbara Court House recommended Brophy Bros for lunch. As we were with our teens we just had a relaxed lunch downstairs. The bartender was very friendly and helpful when we placed our orders. We found the...meals to be delicious and good value. I had a Poke Bowl which was lovely and fresh. We just had water with our lunch and the bar tender made sure the glasses were filled regularly. We were happy with the recommendation.More

First the good: our waiter and hostess were very nice. My clam chowder was tasty. My wife’s salmon was good. We liked dining while overlooking the harbor. Now the not so good: I ordered sesame tuna medium well, however half of it was extremely rare...and hard to cut. I told the nice waiter. He only said: OK. The salad was averageMore

We were recommend to this restaurant by our hotel. The food was pretty average . Lovely calamari . Lovely chowder. But that’s as far as it went. For a glorified fish n chip joint they sure think they are something big. Sat at our table....Wait staff ignored us for at least 20 mins. I had to ask for them to take our order. Then we didn’t see them again until they brought our mains and hadn’t cleared off our starters. So dumped our mains on another table while they cleared our starter plates. We had salmon and veg. Honestly the salmon was a bit dry. The vegetables had some sauce on them which was horrible. Then we finished we had to wait again for staff to clear our table. They weren’t even that busy they were chatting with their friends at the bar. We wanted to split the bill and they tried to refuse by saying their boss will only take one check. We complained and was confronted by our waiter who was very irate and short with us. In the end he caved in and accepted a split bill. But he was another 15 mins coming to take our credit cards to his till. He was purposely ignoring us as we insisted on splitting the bill and he couldn’t be bothered to do it. We left a minimal tip as if we could we would have left nothing. Go to this joint if you wanna be treated like cattle. Waiter actually said his boss wants people in and out as fast as possible. ( how greedy). It was a horrible experience. Even though food wasn’t bad I would never return as if I’m paying for a service and a nice evening I expect one. This was a dreadful experience they need to pull their heads out of somewhere. Because you won’t keep going like you do by being so unhelpful toward your customers. So don’t bother giving them your money. The food isn’t worth the abuse you get.More

Enjoyed the location, music too loud, friendly staff, great food (too much), hard entrance for individuals with walking challenges (stairs steep). It's a family favorite when they are in Santa Barbara, but it was our first experience.
