We go here a couple times a year because my husband really likes it. I am not thrilled. I think the portions on their salads are very small and the service is so so. We went over the Labor Day weekend for a late lunch...More

Sourdough bread is always good and it gets better from there. How do restaurants make a wedge of lettuce taste so good. I mean blue cheese and bacon right. So crisp and delicious. Crab cakes are perfect and all crab no filler. The northeast bucket...More

We love grabbing dinner at the bar at the Fish Market in San Mateo. Benjamin our server was fast and friendly. Great cold beer and excellent oysters. The fish tacos and Mahi Mahi sliders are excellent.

We were led by the hostess to an outside table to enjoy the beautiful weather, and waited 20+ minutes for our server to arrive. We gave her our complete order including an appetizer. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was about 3/4 full. We did...More

The Fish Market is one of those old school restaurants that cooks a decent meal but without much imagination. You'll get typical seafood dishes cooked like mom used to. And fair prices. The best aspect of the restaurant is its waterfront view. Opt for on...More

Fish is generally over cooked here which is a downer for me. Otherwise, a good place to go. Good menu. Fair prices.

When we arrived it was moderately full, by the time we left this place was packed. Choose your time wisely. Food and service were great. Seated outside, nice view, perfect day for it. Waiter was quick but his assistant/busboy was hustling.

Always reliable fish restaurant, with generous portions and reasonable prices. It can be noisy, but the food is worth it. Ask for an outside or window seating, which allow canal views. Fresh catch is available to buy for taking home.

Unless you are going with someone who is NOT a vegetarian, think you might find a better spot. I personally am a Pescetarian and love their smoked fish and calamari. Rest of family eats everything so we all get to enjoy... More

Nestled alongside a quiet lagoon, our fourth restaurant, and the first to feature the upstairs, upscale Top of the Market, has been a dining destination for bay area residents since 1982. This beautiful restaurant also features a full-service cocktail bar and lounge area, and a popular oyster bar. Patio dining is available in the summer months.
