I'm not local, but was introduced to Halu by friends and have managed to visit several times in the last couple of years. The surfboards are gone, replaced by a minimalist vibe that feels incomplete, but the ramen is still outstanding. Service seemed more attentive than on past visits, and Tan Tan Mian was simply delicious. Perfect springy noodles, a... More

We intended to try as many ramen joints in the area as possible when we moved to California, but now it seems that when we're craving a bowl, we only go to Halu. I can only speak to the tan tan men ramen, which has a spicy broth and minced pork, because I order it EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's that... More

My wife and I finally tried out Ramen Halu recently. We ordered a couple of bowls of Ramen, with extra cha-shu for heft. I had the Halu Ramen, with a very tasty and hefty pork broth, and she had the Shoyu Ramen, with a light fish/chicken broth, also tasty. The pork was exceptionally tender, and the noodles were firm and... More

Delicious ramen. Great people. Excellent prices. You should also try the tofu salad. To tofu is locally made. Tastes so silky and light. Definitely a must try.

My friend who lives in the area told me this is the best ramen place in the bay area so we went. We weren't disappointed at all! We had sho-yu ramen and Halu ramen. They both were excellent! Both broth (light broth for sho-yu and thicker broth for Halu) were very good! We cleaned up the bowls, and believe me,... More

ORENCHI is over hype for average overpriced greasy food and kahoo is poorly made and tastes gross (also got food poisoning at kahoo), but Ramen Halu is amazing! More bang for the buck with more of a fresh and authentic style

Gotta try it. Very good inventive beautifully prepared noodle soups. Regular and whole wheat with a choice of broths. These guys do it all extremely well. Yum Halu!

For those who like authentic Japanese ramen, this is the place to go. It's the best I've found in the U.S. so far.

If you ever ate ramen from those packages you will never eat them again!!!!! This is the best Place in the world for Ramen (at least in the bay area). The place is always filled with people eating these large bowls of homemade ramen. I would suggest and always get the Halu Ramen with less salt (you can ask for... More
