We have NO idea what the less than stellar reviews are talking about! We just did a classy dinner for 10 here at the River location in Rancho Mirage, CA. After scouting out tons of other classic, historical or highly rated restaurants in the area...(and there are many) every one of them failed to come up to the promises, seating arrangement, personal waiter or menu that Flemings offered us. The personal service before the event was phenomenal! They bent over backwards to see that all our needs were met, and more. The actual dinner was beyond amazing!! Not only did we get our monies worth - they pulled out all the stops! The service, ambiance, presentation and food were all the best our group has had- and that includes Morton's Steakhouse and some other very elite restaurants! We thank manager Patrick and private dining director Ericka as well as the staff. (Dakota you were awesome!)More
The $53 filet was average at best. I am not sure whether the filet was prime or not. It was somewhat dry. The service was generally inattentive. The first bottle of wine that was brought to our table had turned and was sent back-perhaps this...was not Fleming's fault, but not a good sign to start the dinner. The salad, potatoes and mushrooms were good, but generally of lower quality than what one would expect from a Fleming's. I noticed a number of empty tables at 7 pm on a Friday night-not a good sign during the height of the season. Probably will not go back there anytime soon.More
Have dined in a number of Fleming's restaurants including one of our favorite venues in Tampa. This one needs some triage--the decor is outdated and needs a face lift.Part of the main dining area where we were seated abuts what one thinks of as a...sports bar with little to break up the view!!!! There is a line of stools facing the dining area with folks staring down at you--not conducive to a relaxing fine dining experience!!
Our server was less than personable and was somewhat dismissive when we pointed out that the wine glass was dirty--he took it to the bar, dumped the contents in another glass and returned it to the table (yes I watched him). When I pointed out that my wife had barely sipped it and it was now only half of what it was, he was again agitated but returned with a bottle and topped off the drink!! Clearly he had an attitude!!
The shrimp apps were dry, overly chewy and were probably not fresh! We reside on the Gulf coast and consume a lot of "fresh" shrimp and these were far from it!
Our mains came on plates so hot you couldn't touch them without getting burned! The pork chop was bland and tasted like it had just been defrosted while the potatoes au gratin were crusty and burned on top (probably from over heating in hot oven). The filet on the other hand was very good. When you dine at Fleming's and pay their prices, you expect much better than what we encountered!!!
Overall, I can say this was the poorest experience we have had at any Fleming's--very disappointing!More
Fleming's always seems to find its way to the top of the list when we are craving a great steak with all the trimmings....the restaurant has great ambience, exceptional service, and the food is always the best....they also have great specials that we take advantage...of whenever we can...great wine list...all in all, a great American steakhouseMore
We come here for family birthdays we have two grandchildren Under the age of 5 ,the staff is always friendly and helpful and they don’t try to isolate you into a corner because you have young children with you ,steaks are high quality cooked to...your personal preference with other fresh seafood options that are very good.More
Went for dinner. This place has great food and the service is very fast. Got seated at once but later on there was along waiting line. Food and drinks came quickly. However the place was Very Noisy and you had to talk louder than normal...to be heard at your table. The chairs felt if the backs were tipped forward and you thought you were going to fall through the seat. Very uncomfortable. Food prices are astronomical and very out of range for what you got. Wine selection is very good but here again very expensive and the same for mixed drinks. Valet parking is $8 plus tip. For 2 of us 8oz steak, 2 small veggies, 3 6oz glasses of wines and no desert bill was $240. I was very disappointed and do not think I will go again.More
Not having been to a Flemings in 15 years or so, we decided to give it a go again. The inside of the restaurant needs some serious updating. It has an 80's decor. The food was good for the most part although our potatoes were...burnt. Not much to complain about food wise, but a $200.00 price tag with only a single dessert and no alcohol for what should be a $75 meal was crazy. Won't be going back.More
Summed up in a single word "Consistent." We eat here on a regular basis and the steak is exact everytime. I come here expecting a specific flavor and my expectations are met every time.
The service is good and the servers are friendly. I can...count on the managment to stop by to ensure the service and food are delivered with out exception.
Bathrooms are very clean and do not smell like pee; nothing worse than having the bathroom smell stuck in your nose when you are out to dinner.More
