The decor and ambiance are worth going. You are tranformed to a different time and culture. The insode of the restaurant is reminiscent of a yurt. The service is friendly and attentative. We had a prix fix dinner which was very good, until the entrees. I had the lamb tangine. It wasn't bad, but is wasn't good either. Most of... More

We went early on a Sun eve. Atmosphere is better later with more people..7:30and later... We skipped soup and salad , since it contained bell peppers and tomatoes, we can't eat. We both had diff lamb dishes , which were fine. The appetizer, bastilla, is my fave and I could have stopped there. Service was gracious to give each of... More

For my birthday our son and daughter-in-law took us to El Morocco for dinner. Great staff, food was delicious and we truly enjoyed ourselves. The owner found out it was my birthday and he went up on the stage announced it was my birthday and for everyone to sing the birthday song. Then the belly dancer came over and asked... More

When we visit the east bay we try to plan a dinner at El Morocco. The décor is beautiful, the eating areas comfortable (but you will be on pillows), the entertainment is excellent, but the food is the big attraction. Several courses that are expertly designed and timed to get you ready for your main course. And no where else... More

If you are looking for something different, this is the go to restaurant in central Contra Costa County! We had a wonderful time listening to live music with belly dancers while we sat on pillows and cushions and ate wonderful food. Lots of choices to pick from, both ala carte and fixed dinners. We chose fixed dinners, but there was... More

We used a Groupon and took a party of six in for dinner one Friday night and it was actually quite fun! Don't expect to get out of there cheap but if you have the money and time to put into it the experience is quiet fun. I think we were there two hours and still had to leave between... More

Visited this restaurant on a fri night when "Belly Dancing " is performed. Was surprised to find this restaurant in a small strip mall. Entering the restaurant is a small reception and bar seating maybe 4-5 people. The main dining room is a replica of a typical Moroccan Restaurant. The menu is " Complete " meals ...( pre fixe )... I discovered this place off a GroupOn.. trying to discover a Moroccan restaurant for my go-to cravings. Most is what I expected, but this venue is HUGE.. if you have had a previous Moroccan restaurant experience and it has been fairly intimate and personal, this is not that kind of experience. There are live belly dancers, but instead of just... More

Over the years I have visited this restaurant three times. I think it was better in the past, though it is still fun to eat here. They claim that you can purchase a la carte but provide only a complete meal menu. Truthfully, it's the best way to eat their food so you get many different tastes. The chicken and... More
