Such a diamond in such a hidden corner! If you looked at it from outside, i don't think you'd want to go in, especially with other more appealing looking places close-by. But, the food here is amazing!!! Starting from their kimchi and peanuts, to their soups (we ordered Hot & Sour), to their Chowmein, Chicken clay pot, the Sichuan boiled... More

This is food that you won't find in your average westernized-americanized asian restaurant. The owner is from Chong Qing, the big city of Sichuan Province. He's brought recipes from there and around that area. Spicy pepper lovers will be in heaven, but they have plenty of non-spicy dishes as well. The menu has been recently updated to include some excellent... More

Now, this restaurant is mostly ho-hum. They have dumbed down the food and the chef is not paying attention to serving great food. This week's Sichuan Spicy Crispy Beef was all crisp and no beef. It was over-fried and there was nothing but crunch. If there had been beef, it was long gone during the long frying period. Too bad,... More

I've come here numerous times for the Sichuan style food. Yes, it really is good authentic Sichuan tastes and flavors. They recently added a new menu (most likely due to the new cook/chef) which is definitely worth a try! Having spent some time in China (over 2 years), I was pleasantly surprised to see the Xinjiang Chicken Over Noodles (Xinjinag... More

We heard an excellent review of this wonderful restaurant on KQED's "Check Please Bay Area." We've gone there perhaps three times in the past two years, and have found the service to be courteous and efficient, the ambiance family friendly, and the food excellent with a great variety of choices. Sichuan cuisine is known for its heat, however that can... More

until the chef left to open his own restaurant nearby and then the owner sold the restaurant. the once authentic food was not up to the previous high standards and, imho, becae a run of the mill generic chinese restaurant. I used to eat weekly here before the changes, since when I have gone back 3 or 4 times and... More

First impression of building is weak but inside gets much better. Menu is exciting and full of unique (to Pleasant Hill) choices. Tastes are usually HOT for me but I do it anyway because it's so packed with flavor. Service is ok, don't be in a hurry here but friendly.

Upon entering I wished that I was eating in rather than out as the environment was very relaxing and soothing. The staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. The food was plentiful and very tasty. I would and will go back when in the area again.

After eating chinese food for two weekends now, I thought I had enough of it, but then it's chinese new year, one more chinese dinner is not going to kill me. Don't want to drive too far, so we decided to look around Contra Costa area. Always been curiuos about this place,( seen car park here during lunch time). Surprise,... More
