Nice convenient place right off the 50 "freeway" on the way to Tahoe. Good solid food but nothing special. I had the breakfast burrito and my wife had eggs, bacon with biscuits and gravy. The gravy was sweet as Americans expect and demand and the potatoes were bland and a little dry.

After years of searching, finally found my way back breakfast stop from Tahoe, surprised it took me so long as I'm a long time fan of the Mel's in San Francisco. What takes the Placerville location a cut above is the fast and very friendly service, and excellent food.

We live in town so coming here is frequent. We typically split the chicken club with side salad and small fries. Afterwards we share single scoop hot fudge Sunday. $20 including tip and life is good! Of course we drink water.

Great place to stop in and get that old school food. Good burgers, soup of the day, and regular special. Cool 60's vibe.

If you love the 50's then this is the place to bring back some of those days. The banana splits are huge. You can actually get an old fashioned Malt. Prices good too.

Had lunch here mid week, no waiting. Total diner atmosphere, and food portions are GINORMOUS. We ordered fried Zucchini and no joke, they were nothing less than 10 inches long and there were 6-8 pieces. It was a meal in itself. Burgers were delicious. Chicken salad was huge. Prices were average for a unique restaurant. Family friendly. They even served... More

Food is really good. Atmosphere fun and like you've stepped back into 1950, which is what they are famous for. Customer service.... not so great. I've visited several times, so it's not unusual to have a waitress who is more focused on chatting with friends or co-workers than making sure your dining experience is a good one. Never had a...
