This is a small place in a small town, but with BIG heart and wonderful food! Absolutely LOVED the soup (I think I had asparagus soup when I was there) and I could've eaten 5 bowls! It's all homemade and delicious! The service is as if you were family, very warm and genuine. Love this place!

We stopped by for a quick warm/hot drink after a windy day at the beach. Great atmosphere and fantastic bar tender. Only reason for four stars instead of five was the high price.

An eclectic restaurant out in the boonies along hwy 1 with a deservedly loyal following. Good food. Good desserts. Can be busy on weekends and summer.

It's probably the coolest place I visited in CA. Classic, friendly and great food and drinks. This is not Hitec.

This place is small, a bit out of the way, and not very luxurious. But the staff are friendly, the food delicious and they serve the BEST ollaliberry pie we ate on our trip up the coast. We ended up buying an entire pie.

Duarte's was recommended to us by a local. It is located about 2 1/2 miles inland when driving from San Francisco to Monterey and highly worth the slight detour. My husband and I both had the creamy artichoke soup and split a linguica sandwich. Both were delicious!

Motivated by the host of tDiners, Drive-Ins & Dives to order the abalone sandwich. Sadly the abalone sandwich failed to meet the quality and quantity. When Coco our waitress asked how our food was I expressed my disappointment with its tastelessness and very small portion heavily coated in batter which I pelted off and only ate less than half, about... After driving up the coast from Santa Cruz we stopped at Pigeon Point lighthouse then drove over to Duartes. Our wait time was about 20 minutes, the place was packed. Service was excellent only wish we could say the same for the food. So disappointed . Shrimp cocktail was a bunch of salad shrimp in a glass with cocktail sauce.... More

Visited this niche place with family - hysterical throwback to an era long gone . There is a lunch counter with original old fashion swivel stools and wood paneling on the walls . Small place which seems charming . Although not overly obvious there were several gluten free options aside from just salad ...... Would recommend - it feels like... More

People go here from miles around to eat the Artichoke Omelets and other dishes. Do not be in a hurry because you will most likely have a wait for a table.
