Our family went because of great reviews. Some people commented on good fish. I couldn’t disagree more. Both of the people in our party who ordered fish received it over cooked. The pacing of orders was frustrating. Some people didn’t get their food until the...More

I’m a big fan of raw oysters on the half shell; and until last month, I only ate them this way. And a friend brought me here because The Fish Market has the freshest seafood around. I ordered my raw oysters and my friend had...More

The atmosphere is appealing. Service attentive. Beverage selection ample. Cioppino and tuna tacos excellent. Manhattan clam chowder definitely seems like their New England clam chowder with tomato sauce/paste; it definitely contains a substantial amount of cream.

Consistently good food, reasonable prices, service always pleasant - Not any other true "fish" restaurants around any more.

The food was so good, we ate here two nights in a row - something we never do. Mesquite grilled fish of all kinds, fresh and amazing, and an elaborate menu. Friendly service, too.

Came after the movie last night at CineArts. It’s just a long walk across the parking lot or a 1/2 block drive. I had the Duckets bucket with garlic bread, mussels and clams in a wonderful garlic butter broth. My friends and hubby started with...More

This place has very fresh fish and a great selection to choose from. Highly recommend it. It’s a busy place and noisy so don’t expect a quiet meal.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The open kitchen is a good choice. Fast and nice service. But the skin of the trout I ordered was totally black. And I don 't like eating carbon. Local appetite?

Although this restaurant got good reviews, it did not meet our expectations. Just average food and it was very noisy. Must note that this was more than a year ago.

I've visited The Fish Market restaurants in San Mateo, Santa Clara and Palo Alto for years. The food is always good and, very importantly, consistent from visit to visit, location to location. I almost always choose one of the fresh grilled options, but the menu...More

Our first restaurant has been a Palo Alto institution since its doors opened in 1976. With the brand new addition of an oyster bar, cocktail bar and lounge area, there are now even more ways to experience this unique restaurant. The expansive retail market remains a popular stop for local residents seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish.
