We had a light lunch with soup, garlic bread and dessert. I thought the food was very good especially the soup and garlic bread; prices were reasonable. Clean restaurant with friendly staff as well. Highly recommendable!

Recently had a family meal at this restaurant. My mother-in-law lives right across the street and is handicapped, so it is a restaurant that is easy to access for her. It is very much like a deli. The food is okay, not great, and the...More
Max opera cafe could do better at improving the food quality at this restaurant that is so conveniently located in the Stanford shopping center. It is a pity to see that the quality of the dishes keeps getting poorer. The potato skins were really gross...More
Went for lunch with family and my daughter and I both had the Matzo Ball Soup, a favorite of mine. I had it with the half corned beef sandwich which was tender and tasty and a Caesar salad. My granddaughter had the mac 'n cheese...More
Food was good, but overpriced. Not a good-value restaurant. We were expecting an experience similar to the Max's in Sacramento (which unfortunately has closed). The service was ordinary, and their Reuben sandwich for which Max's was more known was mediocre. Chicken pot pie was excellent.
In the past, and maybe too many years ago, I occasionally enjoyed going to Max's Opera Cafe. It's changed. The restaurant smelled like chlorine soaked wiping rags (I probably should have left with that) and the food was average at best. Service was still good....More
Nice location close to Stanford University. We had 4 cheese omelet with potatoes and a scone. I enjoyed it $14.75. We also had the corn flake French toast $10.00. It was good but not much flavor a bit bland. We sat outside. It’s pet friendly....More
I had come to the mall to pick up something I had preordered and got hungry. I wanted something different, so I tried Max's for the first time. I wasn't too hungry; therefore, I opted for an appetizer--potato skins. They were good (I really liked...More
Average comes to mind for this experience. Nothing really wrong but nothing great either. Food was ok but could used a bit more TLC
The staff was terrible. No refills for drinks and no suggestions for our meal. The Reuben was ok , but the salmon was almost inedible. The berry pie was cold and gummy. The best thing I can say about this restaurant is it is convenient...More
