The people who took me to Calafia eat there all the time. They were shocked to run into an overflow card, but we got a table after a very short wait. Unfortunately the staff, though friendly, was overworked and slightly slow. The wait was worth...More

I had a fabulous kale salad with a fabulous vin. dressing...nice wine (though a little stingy with the pour). service was just perfect. skip the molten lava cake. beautiful but mediocre taste/texture with a very high price...$12! but overall, a lovely dinner...not really a romantic...More

Great shaking beef kale salad and casual outside dining. We had 2 convenient meals at this outdoor mall restaurant. Service was good and the food was prepared and presented well. This is not a destination restaurant but a very comfortable place to dine at the...More

I've been eating here pretty consistently for nearly 3 years - it is one of my favorite places in Palo Alto for brunch on the weekends or dinner anytime. I prefer to sit at the counter to watch all of the food being prepared. There...More

A regular spot for me as a frequent visitor to Palo Alto, Calafia is a dream for those who are gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, etc. but still want a variety of tasty options. This is the best of "healthy" comfort food with a very large menu...More

We are in Palo Alto visiting our kids/grandkids and had lunch at the Calafia Cafe. After cooking for Christmas, we were looking for a relaxing luncheon restaurant and picked Calafia. What a treat. Most of us had salads which were fresh and enticing. The salmon...More

Calafia is the neighborhood restaurant to many of the locals. Families might go there for a cosy dinner and may return for breakfast. Professionals, techies, programmers, and students from the high school next door pile up there for lunch. No matter what the reason, it...More

I work close to Town and Country and like popping in here for the salad bar, which is quite good. They have soups and sandwiches too. But if you like a sit down meal, they have that as well. Nice decor, clean, good service. Nice...More

There are dozens of great things to choose from. All well put together and difficult to only chose one thing. Well-balanced choices for meat eaters and vegans alike. I was surprised by how low the tab was at the end.

Description
In 2009, Charlie Ayers leased nearly 5,000 square feet of space in the Town & Country Shopping Plaza across from Stanford University, realizing his dream of a owning neighborhood spot serving organic, sustainable, healthy, delicious food. Calafia Cafe & Market A Go-Go was an instant hit, and today still has crowds lining up to get a seat. This casual restaurant has an energetic vibe, and serves food inspired by the incredible bounty that is available in California. Calafia continues to bring the Silicon Valley community and its visitors together around fresh, farm-to-table cuisine in an always festive atmosphere.
