wish i knew this place was fake. watch the ghost hunters episode where this dude lied to their face with a GRIN. they had speakers in the walls, masks behind mirrors, devices in the attic to make the lights move. a disrespect to the paranormal...world. wasted their valuable time when they could have been helping families in need.More

My wife and I went on a Saturday of a long weekend. That was a big mistake as the restaurant was packed. I had a reservation, so my wife and I were seated promptly. The service and the food were excellent. If I had to...pick the best aspect of our visit, I would say the appetizer of French onion soup. It had lots of cheese, which I loved, and a cup was more than enough for me. It was excellent.More

We were staying in moss beach and this restaurant was walkable. It had been recommended by our Airbnb host too. It was very average for the price. Expensive prices and ‘okay’ food. I saw a review that said stick to simple foods such as fish...tacos - I would agree with this. The fish tacos were yummy. The server was friendly but the drinks took too long to come and we had them for a few minutes before food arrived.More

No doubt wonderful views if you’re lucky enough to visit at the right time of year ( fall apparently)…..summer time sees a lot of mist. Service on the evening we visited was poor. Food itself was only ok and presented very fast but we were...left waiting too long to be shown to a table and the way too long to receive our ordered drinks. Venue looks and felt like it has seen better days. Shame.More

Moss Beach Distillery was suggested to us during our trip to San Francisco. It was worth the drive, along the beautiful coast of CA! The building was constructed in 1927 and it could use a refresh. HOWEVER, the patio overlooks the Pacific and the views...were STUNNING. The food was very good. The beer battered artichoke hearts app was delicious & plentiful. The 3 coast sliders were fresh and tasty.More

Old building with amazing views and interesting history. The food and views were great, got there a few minutes before they opened on a Sunday and didn’t have reservations but were able to get a table even though the brunch crowd seems like a popular...draw.More

First time visitor. If I didn’t have my GPS, I never would have gotten to the restaurant from the main road, although halfway there they finally had signs. Right before the restaurant, there was a huge dip in the road (dangerous when leaving), which I...would never attempt in the dark. This is the main reason for the rating. There are several other restaurants in the area with better food that are right off the road. Other than that, the fish tacos were good, but so wet they fell apart before you finished them and I had to resort to a fork. The service was attentive, the view was beautiful, and we were not hurried. We were outside on the dog-friendly patio for lunch. Needed a reservation.More

We had drinks and apps here, and it was all sort of “meh”. The drinks were expensive, but sort of blah. We were going for fun coastal cocktails, so I got a Blue Lady and my husband got some sort of cosmo-ish thing. They both...tasted pretty much the same, overly sweet, and not very distinctive. We both got soup that was not hot enough and mediocre in flavor. The service here was very good. We did not have a reservation and they found us a table. Our waiter was accommodating and friendly as well. The location here is nice for sunset drinks. But overall, nicotine a repeat for us.More

The best part of the food was the beet salad. They had a mushy cheesy seafood dish that just didn't come together. The Yellowfin Tuna was meh. I looked here first to see if I could find recommended dishes.

I'm tardy in writing this review, but now that my summer travel has ended and I've had plenty of time to reflect - Here goes! I've been dining at the Moss Beach Distillery since the early 80s. It was a top Sunday Brunch spot for...me and my friends after the Alta Mira closed in Sausalito. I made a reservation to celebrate another Birthday there in July - I think it would have been my 5th or 6th Birthday at this beloved location. Well, not in 2021 and here's why. It was especially cold on this July 19th evening and we requested to move indoors. When the answer was NO, I sought out the Manager. I took 10 minutes to explain to Olivia my long support of the restaurant and that I was celebrating another birthday there and had driven from downtown SF to reflect the many years over my meal. The answer was still NO...mind you there was hardly anyone seated upstairs, as we had arrived early and wanted to see the sunset. Anyway, I will not bore you with details as perhaps Olivia was having a bad day, but I'm all about customer service and this did not end well - we left. Olivia - Like it or not, you're in the people business. So when a life long customer pleads for accommodation - the first answer should not be NO! A last minute call to Mastro's Steakhouse in the city saved my Birthday dinner - Fortunately, dinners have options. To the owners of Moss Beach Distillery: This mattered to me and should matter to YOU!More

The table we had outside gave us an excellent view of the setting sun as we enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, and dinner. We would come back to this restaurant on our next visit.

The place to visit. The service was great, the food was great, the view of the ocean was fantastic. The prices are fair. Great place to stay after dinner. I am a local and over the years I have visited the Distillery on numerous occasions.

Husband had the naked lobster roll, I had the beet salad and the seafood rissoto. So so good. I honestly think it was the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant...That may be the COVID shut down talking but regardless,we both highly recommend...what we ordered. He was going to save me a bite of the lobster roll but it was gone before we knew it. Our server was young and seemed inexperienced. She communicated well but there were oversights. Nothing extreme and we had a lovely dinner at Sam's.More

The spot is incomparable. Many people eat outside on the patio but it is pretty cold and windy, so we ate indoors. If you stick to the basics, like fish tacos, the food is very good. I made the mistake of ordering the wild mushroom...ravioli (what was I thinking?). The ravioli were fine, but the sauce tasted like there was tinned Campbell tomato soup in it. Anchor Steam and Fortpoint beer on tap. It's a bit expensive, but not if you stick to the basics. Did I mention that?More
