Visting the Bay area this weekend, I went to Madera last night with my cousins who live there and had always wanted to try Madera. The setting is gorgeous, the food very good, though not superb, and the prices steep. The evening started with a search of the single-malt list which was quite extensive. I settled on a pricy selection,... More

We ordered the Trout and the Cobb Salad. Both were perfectly made. We then went on to desert which was simply outstanding. Highly recommend you visit this place for lunch and if you can sit outside (should the weather permit) it would simply make it the perfect lunch spot! Well done to all who contribute to the success of this... More

Food and wine are good but not exceptional. Dishes have European sizes so don't expect to make it with just one main course.

From the moment you pull up and the attentive valets take your car you are made to feel special. The food lives up to the beautiful views and lovely setting. My wife had gnocchi that was incredibly light and delicious. I had a perfectly cooked steak. We finished off our meal with an exceptional cheese plate. The portions are a... More

Wonderful restaurant with great brunch! Service is great and views are beautiful toward the window. Not for the price sensitive though. :)

The bar and terrace at Madera is locally famous for the atmosphere and people watching on Thursday nights. I have been several times and took a group of out of town business associates there for drinks on the first warm day of spring! As expected the scene was great. Expensive drinks, expensive bar food. But it is a great spot... More

We stopped in late in the afternoon before headed back to the city for a glass of wine and some lighter fare. Mind you, this place is not inexpensive. The place was not very crowded. The server struggled with the wine order. We ordered some french fries and waited and waited... i reminded our server and she said she forgot... More

Limited, but high quality Michelin experience. Cozy and well choreographed service and the food was even better. Three of us all had different entrees and appetizers - and we all claimed our was the "best" dish. Wine list is California driven, but good selection from around the world if you wish. Have the beignets for dessert. Try not to lick... More

Limited, but well sought out menu. The portions are "European"/gourmet size and not huge Good wine selection. Main dining room cozy and pleasant. Service courteous and efficient.

The menu is really limited, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The portions are small, so for an average appetite, plan on an appetizer. It's In Silicon Valley so the prices are high but the quality is good. The presentation of the dishes, though creative, were a bit over the top. Service was excellent.
