This restaurant was started by a priest (Fr Gregory Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries) who wanted a place to train former gang members for employment outside 'the hood'. His book, Tattoos on the Heart, is well worth reading and provides multiple examples of the...More

This food is fine dining. I don't want to spoil how this place got started but hats off to the owner. You have to visit. The tacos are amazing. Visit their store as well. It's great for a business lunch.

We had a lovely lunch here while visiting LA. Best grilled cheese sandwich I've had yet, and the cucumber cooler drink was amazing. Pastries are all homemade and worth a visit alone. Great service, everyone very welcoming. I'd definitely recommend it.

Menu is cafe style but with a sorta foodie twist. It's all homemade. Consuela sandwich and broccoli-cheese soup Way tasty sandwich and very good soup that...More

So this place to be honest is a little scary you see the tatted hardcore looking staff outside leaving form their shifts or on their break. Even when coming inside I was a little cautious because the greeter looked like she would rather be changing...More
