This is our local go-to coffee spot, especially for whole beans, filters, etc. You get a free coffee with the purchase of beans. All the food items are excellent. Super happy they are open again on the weekends!!

Best coffee we had since we arrived in LA. America is not known for their coffee culture and so far the coffee we had were just passeable. The breakfast burrito was excellent.

Whenever I'm in Hollywood I have to stop in for some java. This place has the most amazing coffee, and so many different options to boot. Locals, artists, Hollywood-types - everyone stops here.

Coffee at the sunset boulevard location whilst other half is buying up the entire stock of jazz at amoeba across the road is a perfect start to the holiday. Friendly staff, good coffee, relaxed ambiance, wifi, what more could you want?

Recently moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Initially, we weren't sure how good the coffee would be in LA compared to SF, but Groundwork is one of many terrific coffee shops in downtown LA. Tasty pastries too!

This is my favorite coffee in Los Angeles. They have a good selection. The espresso is never bitter. It has a roasted tasted and is not watery. It is across the street from a music store I like so I usually go to both places.

Wow - only one (terrible) review. Time to put the record straight, then! To be clear, I'm talking about the Groundwork coffee at 671 rose avenue, venice, ca. Seriously, if you like coffee and you like milkshakes, you will be transported to heaven. They even grind up beans into the espresso milkshake - it's awesome. And go and sit under... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
