I have been here multiple times. Most recently 2/28/20. Food is excellent. Had both the Mandilli and Casonzei. Highly recommend. The cannoli was one of the best ever. I love cannoli and I almost order every chance I get when I go to Italian restaurants. The ones ar Factory Kitchen were the best. They serve four small pieces per order which is just perfect if you only want one piece to sample or to gorge yourself! I went with my wife and intended to eat only two, but ended up eating three! We thought about taking two home, but I decided to overdo myself! Weill definitely come back when I get a chance.

Our party of three ate dinner in the newly-installed outdoor dining area. Heaters were stationed by each table, an important factor on a cool evening. Service was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. Prices are upscale but not high and reasonable for the quality of food served.
Our table shared two appetizers The first was Tradizionale Focaccina (foccaccio) that was incredibly light, filled with Crecenza cheese, topped with arugala and olive oil, a truly remarkable achievement. Excellent. The other appetizer was Barberosse, oven-roasted beets with Asiago, Romano Cream, and Parmesan cheese: the Parmesan did not work well with the beets. My entrée was the Ravioli di mare, ravioi with shrimp, saffron, crema, zucchini, tomatoes and shrimp tartare: light in texture, excellent taste (I had to ask for salt as it was needed). Dessert were very fresh, very good cannoli filled with mascarpone. A delightful even, unrushed and well tended to.

This restaurant serves very good northern italian recipes. My wife and I shared six dishes and they were all delicious. The Sanremese, the Prosciutto, the homemada pasta with almond pesto, and the Porchetta were our favorites. The Farfalloni and the Bigne’ were also excellent. We will definitely return.

I was excited to try this resturant with a group of friends. I have visited Italy many times, and I found the menu interesting with a creative twist on authentic Italian dishes. Unfortunately, however, the menu was better than the actual taste of the food, but I am getting ahead of myself...
We ubered there from the staples center, and we initially were put off by the areas we passed while driving, which had a lot of homeless persons sleeping in tents. But we turned a corner and arrived to a lively restaurant.
The vibe at the Factory Kitchen is great, although the dining room is very noisy with tables rather close together. It is a trendy urban resturant with exposed beams and warm wood tones. The dining room opens to the kitchen, allowing you to observe the chefs working at the factory. A loud but really nice atmosphere.
Service was excellent. Our waitress was great.
Wine menu was small but had nice offerings. We had a bottle of Pino Nero that was inexpensive but tasted great.
I dined with a vegetarian friend, and there were many options for her on the menu. We tried the Friturra appetizer, with baby leeks and chick pea beer battered fritters. That was very good and it was surprisingly light. I also tried the Sanremese calamari salad. It had tender calamari with nice fresh olives, but the calamari needed a bit more salt. Similarly, we all agreed that our entrees were under seasoned/ under salted. Such a disappointment! Especially because the pasta dishes were homemade with lovely delicate pasta. I had a Colpe de Mare seafood pasta with shrimp and mussels, and it was bland. The seafood had absolutely no seasoning on it. My vegetarian friend tried the Mandilli di seta pasta, which is a thin egg-pasta with a basil almond pesto. She actually asked our server for salt after she tasted it. I tried it and agreed that it was bland. My other friend had the Casonzei pasta, which is a pork sausage and beef filled egg-pasta with pancetta. That was by far the the best tasting dish. Likely the pancetta and sausage in it allowed for a more seasoned taste.
I really do hope that the overall lack of seasoning was just a one off on a Thursday night. As a visitor to LA, however, I am not sure I would return to take the risk and find out. Disappointing.

Don’t go if you are a Vegan. I took a party of 6 who all enjoyed their meal but all I could have was a bowl of onions and a plate of Brussel sprouts. They made no effort to try and cater for my dietary requirements and just brought out two separate side dishes for my main meal. I had to ask for a plate so that I could at least combine them together so I could pretend to be having a main meal with my guests. Desert was equally disappointing as I only had the choice of two sorbets. When I asked if they could at least add some fruit to my sorbet (as the main meal had left me hungry and a bad taste in my mouth of onions) I was told it was impossible as fruit compote could only be used for other desert dishes and not mine. So, for what cost me $800 I had a very disappointing experience and not what I would expect in LA/ California.

Reservations here are pointless - they won’t honor it anyway.
I’d like to start by saying I was really excited to try this restaurant. I’ve heard lots of good things and was looking forward to coming here to celebrate my friend’s birthday dinner. We made a reservation for 8pm on a Friday night, and our entire party arrived at 8pm on the dot. When we checked in with the hostess, she informed us that we’d have to wait a little longer while they cleared out the table.
After ~15 minutes, we still hadn’t received any communication from the hostess so we checked in again. She informed us that they were waiting for another party to finish up their dessert, then we’d be seated. We continued waiting for a total of 40 minutes past our original reservation time before we asked to speak to a manager. The hostess attempted to brush us off, saying that the manager would be coming shortly even though we clearly saw him wandering around the restaurant.
We finally managed to get a hold of Jeff Smith, the manager, and explained to him that we had made a reservation for 8pm, but it was 8:45 at this point and we still hadn’t been seated. Jeff made no apologies for the inconvenience, and instead said “I don’t know what you want me to do, you wouldn’t like it if I tried to rush your party out of the restaurant.” You’re right, Jeff, we wouldn’t like that. But we also didn’t like it when you refused to honor the reservation we made either.
At this point, we decided that it wasn’t worth the wait and informed Jeff that we’d like to cancel our reservation. Jeff responded by saying “Where are you going to go? I know this area very well and you’re not going to get anywhere better on a Friday night.” He offered us free appetizers for wasting our time, but we decided to call it quits and opted for Ave. 26 tacos instead.
In summary, we were shocked at the complete lack of consideration and rudeness of the staff. While the food looked delicious as we saw plenty of other parties being seated and served on time, it simply isn’t worth the trouble of dealing with Mr. Smith and his staff. I recommend visiting all the other places in the area for good food, including Bavel, Bestia, Rossoblu, Maccheroni Republic, and more.

Good menu , and they do change the menu often. The food is delicious , we decided to share different dishes , they also have vegetarian options on the menu .
The desert was delicious as well.

A somewhat not very good server (good enough) did not detract from an excellent meal. The kitchen made up for the guy's shortcomings.
Great outdoor ambience, complemented by a superb meal. The beet/goat cheese appetizer was phenomenal.

We intended to go here for DineLA abut got the day wrong. Still, it was well worth it. This is extremely well-executed northern Italian food in a casual setting. The porchetta and the handkerchief pasta are not to be missed. Attentive service.

This is a Michelin Star restaurant. The place was packed. The atmosphere was busy and buzzing. And yet, Our server, Alejandro was on point all night. We had a large group so we had just about everything on the menu at our table. I had a Ribeye steak with Brussel sprouts. I tried some of their bread which was heavenly. Their flavors and plates are pretty complex and feature a variety of flavors in each dish. Lots of folks at the table tried the hand made pastas. They look amazing and the general opinion in our group was that they were amazing. As I mentioned, I had the Controfiletto, a porcini rubbed center cut beef ribeye with bone marrow. It was ever so slightly overcooked...and still, it was completely yummy. Tender, juicy, flavorful, just so good (served at M instead of MR as requested). Our server tried hard to take my meal back to the kitchen. I refused because it was really just a minute or two over the temp I wanted. But the attention to making sure I was satisfied was really special.
I enjoyed the atmosphere at this restaurant. At the bar, the bartenders were making the coolest drinks and were happy to chat about everything they were making while they worked. The kitchen is open so you can wander over and watch them make fresh pasta during the evening. Everything about this place is well done. The staff, the location, the food. All just excellent. It's in downtown LA, not a place to walk to, get a car service or an uber.

Good food in a sketchy part of town...portions were a bit on the small side, but what they lacked in size they made up for in flavor. Everything was really good, and the beer list had a couple of nice surprises.

So disappointed. The place is nice though very noisy. We had high expecting but nothing was good. The prechutto was tasty but came with a big blob of cheese that didn’t fit in. Not to mention the base that is tasty but very hard to cut making sharing very awkward. The green salad with dates had maybe three tiny pieces of dates.
The the focaccia was bland. The Brussels sprouts were not well cooked and quite bitter. The sausage stuffed pasta and the pasta with the rabbit were not bad but not very flavorful.
Lastly the banana bread pudding felt as if it was heated in the microwave.
Service of our waiters was very slow and not attentive at all. Once food was ready getting it to the table and off the table was efficient.

Return visit after a few years and basically the same. Very noisy and almost impossible to have a conversation when it is busy. Dont get a table near the bar at the entrance end if possible as you will be overlooked and interrupted by people stood at the bar waiting for a table. Service was slow - there didn't seem to be enough waiting staff to cope. One of our main meals was forgotten and everybody else had finished by the time it arrived. Food was good though but the whole experience was disappointing and not enjoyable at all.

Our first time visiting this restaurant with high expectations. First, the good news: great location, easy valet parking, great atmosphere, first class table service. Second, the food. The Pizzata (tomato and anchovies pizza) and Prosciutto (on sage dough with a wonderful sauce) we had for starters were excellent. And the Dentice (imported snapper) was fine. But the Fegato (calf liver) was ordinary; the Casonzei (filled egg-pasta) was dry with little sauce; and the Cavoletti (charred brussels sprouts) lacked flavor. The worst dish was Mandilli Di Seta (a flat pasta with an ordinary sauce). They need to do better.
