While it was impossible to get a pre-ballet reservation for lunch, we were easily seated at a patio table. The service was friendly, the ambiance was great, and while limited, even the menu looked promising. Alas, while this was advertised as a classic French brasserie, there was nothing remotely French about the cooking. Serviceable, but nothing special. Won't repeat the... More

Booked in advance and were ushered to our table straight away. Waiter was very helpful and informative. My partner's Barramundi with crispy skin cooked to perfection. My bouillaisse good depth of flavour. Overall, a great experience!

Like most others, stopped in here between two court appearances. Two of us sat at the bar, which was fine for us, but make reservations for larger groups. The food was tasty, and the service was pretty good considering the lunch crowd, but there were some flaws: we were asked if we wanted bread, we said yes, but the bread... More

It started with a 6pm reservation and a line up 8 people just waiting to be seated that never moved because the front desk people couldn't get it together. We had theatre tickets so we were luck to locate two chairs at the bar. The waiter while friendly wasn't in too much of a hurry to do anything about serving... More

We've dined here several times prior to a Sunday matinee performance at the Ahmanson. Most times our service is excellent. This time however, it was a different experience. We were seated, with a reservation, and we waited and waited and waited for someone, anyone, to approach our table. Finally, one of us got up and went to the front to... More

We have been coming to Kendalls since it opened and have always found the food, service ,and ambience very welcoming and good. They recently underwent a remodel and I have to say the change was for the worst. First of all, it is no longer the charming restaurant where you could have a conversation with your seat mates. It was... More

I ate here before going to the AHMANSON theatre and they do everything but carry you to your seat . They want to make sure you have a good dining experience and arrive at your seat on time. I had a great waiter, Angel Baez, who put up with my questions: From what kind of coffee do you use (sorry)... More

The reason I give this place such a low rating concerns the food. The service was pleasant and reasonably prompt, the atmosphere convivial and the location excellent next to the LA Music Center. The food, however, takes this place to the lowest level, occupied only by two other places, one in London, the other in Capetown. If a French served... More

We had a lovely meal in a decour which has a slightly authentic French feeling about it. The oysters were gorgeous and the Steak Minute was excellent steak but not as thin as minute steak should be! The kale salad was delicious. My friend had Coq Au Vin which she thoroughly enjoyed. A pity the Bordeaux wines were so pricey... More

Since we were going to a show at the Ahmanson Theatre, we decided to return to Kendall's Brasserie for convenience after a not-too-great experience the last time. Well, I'm glad we did because they redeemed themselves. For a Thursday at 6 pm, Kendall's was already busy, but the pleasant hostess seated us immediately (we had reservations). I think the fact... Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
