We enjoyed this place, but it's nothing to rush back to. Proximity to our vacation rental and having a Groupon was the motivating factor. Try to eat on the patio, which has more charm than eating indoors. Unfortunately it was wet/rainy while were were there, so had to settle for the over-heated, small indoor area. We did enjoy our meals,... More

This place is run by Europeans and has delicious food. Inside there is a small store as well that sells various packaged foods from Europe - you order your food at the register and they bring it out to you. The food was delicious- I had the Cheval - two fried eggs with ham and swiss cheese on toasted bread.... More

It is almost liberating with a little old-fashioned cafe in the outskirts of the ultra-hip Abbot. Here francophiles feel at home, the coffee is not magic, nor bread, which you would think of a French cafe. Is the temperature comfortable there is a nice outdoor terrace. If you want to buy you some imported delicatessen home, there is a small shop... More

No service, boring food, nothing special. Not the best place to have breakfast. I can not recommend.

While visiting LA, we stopped in to this cafe for a quick bite. Once we saw the offerings, we decided to linger. The coffee was amazing and we really enjoyed the pastries too! I'll be back next time I'm in the area. Friendly staff and lovely outdoor seating area too.

Coming from Melbourne, it was great to find somewhere that does real coffee! Nice outdoor setting and friendly staff to make it even better.

We stopped into the French Market Cafe two times on two recent trips to Venice, California. Biggest tip is that you go inside, line up and place your order and they'll give you a table number. It was nice to be able to sit outside. On Sundays they have a "chanteuse" who sings beautifully and adds a nice touch to... More

We went to this place for breakfast. We ordered coffee and eggs. They got our order wrong and when our food did arrive we had to send it back as not properly cooked. No apologies offered and not sure what all the hype is about.

Their crepes are fantastic. I bought a giant jar of Nutella to bring home. The line to pay and order was a little long.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
