Awesome food, service and friendly place. Had dinner here Sat night and was so happy that the food was as good as I remembered. Have not been here for several years as we don't get into this part of Sherman Oaks, (los angeles) very often. I had a fantastic burger with not only a hand formed burger, juicy and tender... More

My wife and I arrived with a groupon anxious to try a restaurant I remember from my childhood. We paid 4.00 to the parking attendant in the back and she advised that the restaurant would pay us back at the end of the meal, which it did. There are also meters along Van Nuys Blvd. The friendly manager met us... More

The place was empty except for a few bar customers. We ran in to get out of the huge rains pouring down. We should have run the other way. Ordered combos consisting of burgers with bacon, etc, and fried thin onion rings. The food was ugh and ugh: meat was awful, full of gristle and tasted stale, bacon was soggy,... More

My wife and I hate that this is the last Hamlet. We have been coming here for decades. The food is still exceptional, the bar is great and the service is impeccable. The only downside is the place is getting a little shabby, needs new carpet, new tile, new upholstery, but we will still eat her, no matter what, great... More

We went with our friends as we all wanted burgers. They got two of our orders wrong and had to change them out. Burger was average, shoestring potatoes were good. It has been years since we have been here, it might be several before we come back.

We had dinner here about three weeks ago. The food was very good - everything was fresh, hot and looked great. Our server was excellent, attentive and friendly without crowding us. The prices were very reasonable. The parking kinda sucks - we're newbies to the area so maybe there are parking secrets we don't know, but paying to park to... More

Been there years ago in their Sunset Location. Always enjoyed the starter happy hour, which is no longer available. While we were excited to learn that HH is back, we were disappointed and will not go again, as all food was very mediocre. The service was excellent though.

The Hamburger Hamlet in my neighborhood was my go-to place in high school. The food was innovative and fun. But that was almost 40 years ago. My friend and I have visited this Hamlet twice and our overwhelming impression of it is that it is tired. That's sad, because it was a great chain. We started at the bar, waiting... More

We have visited HH in the past as family lives close by. The prices on the on-line menu were 50% less than when we arrived at restaurant. We had called in for take out. What a surprise to see a 50% increase in prices. Hamburgers were med rare and we ordered medium well. Will not return.

Stopped in to have a burger, but decided to go with the lobster bisque and a half chicken salad sandwich instead. I really wasn't impressed with either. My friend got a burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tables seemed sticky and overall the place just felt a bit dirty. I wouldn't make it a point to stop by when I'm... More

Description
We wish to welcome you to The Hamburger Hamlet!

Like many of us who grew up in Los Angeles, The Hamburger Hamlet played a significant role in our friends and families lives. From dinner in Westwood before seeing a movie, to Sunday Brunch in Brentwood, The Hamburger Hamlet was always a home away from home known for simply marvelous food & drink.

Our memories include watching a very dapper man named Harry Lewis go table to table greeting his guests or seeing Marilyn Lewis working with the staff and attending to the guests needs. Still fresh in our memories is our favorite burger paired with a Haagen-Dazs shake, the famous lobster bisque and the apricot chicken wings.

So inspired by what The Hamburger Hamlet represented, that when we had the opportunity to take over such a historic brand, we could not resist the chance to bring it back to the proud tradition and foundation created by your former hosts, Harry and Marilyn Lewis and pay our respects to what they achieved.

Welcome back!

Your Hosts Kevin Michaels and Brett Doherty
