If you want a simple, family style Japanese restaurant where you can get ramen, curry, tempura, udon, and other homey dishes, visit Suehiro. This restaurant has been around since I can remember (having grown up in LA). We would come here late at night (they stay open until 1am), if we have a hankering for very good homey soup or... More

Popular restaurant in the center of Little Tokyo that specializes in home-styled dishes and where you can get a good sampling of authentic Japanese food. Vegan options as well. A wide selection of Sushi, ramen, udon, tempura aand teriyaki. Japanese Beer. Clean, family friendly, small hole in the wall kind of place that will make you glad you stepped inside.... More

My family of four has been coming to this restaurant for many years and it has always been one of our favorites. We have since moved out of state and visited on a recent trip back to LA. We felt compelled to order a little bit of everything and we were not disappointed! It was fantastic! Attentive staff and delicious... More

This is our go to restaurant when we are in JTown. I usually get the special stir fry eggplant and peppers with beef. It has a good char on the veggies I cannot get at home. Reasonably priced. Nothing fancy, just good every day food.

I am back for another visit, it's been 3 years since I've been here. They've remodeled this old school place and made it look a bit more modern but still having that Japanese touch to it. I ordered the beef Sukiyaki on a cloudy day which fit the mood. The dish was amazing, from the first bite I knew I... More

We came here because she could get fried chicken and I could eat traditional Japense fare. It worked for us both, she actually said the chicken was the best she has ever had. Even thought it is not called fried chicken. My food was amazing and the service was great. I was shocked it was less crowded for a good... More

Decided to stop here for a cold Sapporo because it was happy hour and it was very hot on the street. Great place, friendly staff and the salted soy beans were a great snack to go with the beer. Didn't tried the food but it seemed delicious!

Place has Been here a while, almost a fixture on the street. Fast with good food ordered some Udon and tasted like Udon should. Yakasoba nice gesture and flavor.. A little on the salty side but with in tolerance. Good quantity. Not too much and not petite portions.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
