I've been visiting for decades. The margaritas are really good and the menu is interesting. I like their original tostada which packed with veggies. Imagine beets and peas in a tostada with thousand island dressing, and it tastes great. The waitresses dress in traditional Mexican garb, and the place is very colorful and has lots of booths and outdoor seating.... More

This place is a must if you are in Los Angeles. We have been coming here for 40 years. It's about time I wrote a review of it. We were there for lunch today, and as usual it was very busy. I ordered the Albondigas soup to start out and The Carnitas Plate as my main course. We waited and... More

Went with friends and family. Very attentive waiter, excellent food (both taste and portion size!), and a great atmosphere. Would recommend!

The old school decor makes it feel as authentic as it is. The fajita's were plentiful and delicious! Our waitress was efficient and friendly. And we had a fun time drinking the margarita's!

Being from Texas we were craving Mexican food .... a friend recommended this place & hands down I approve. Another great recommendation was Don Cucos. We didn't have a chance to try it but if it's in your area it was highly recommended as well.

Wonderful service and great good. What else can you ask for. Large, no huge portions. We had chicken burrito s, great. Enough for 2-3 people.

Incredible authentic atmosphere with plenty of seating space. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The menu has a great variety of Mexican food. When it came to the actual food, it was poorly presented, greasy and cheap-looking and tasted basic. Could improve on that to make it 5 star!

This place totally reminds me of the Mexican restaurant in Denver (Senor Pepe's) that my family always went to back in the 1970s when I was a kid. Time has hardly touched El Coyote, except for the fact that they actually have tamales without meat (green corn tamales), which are hard to find even today. Retro Mexican food is the... More
