We found this venue using Tripadvisor and it was a great find. The atmosphere was great with live music and a 3 piece band. Highly recommended.

From the street this place doesn't look like much however once you open those doors let the good times roll. The food is tasty and the service is just phenomenal! Price is great and You receive unlimited corn chips and soda. Great for singles, couples, friends and family.

On family vacation in LA, our kids asked to have some Mexican food. My wife has never been a huge fan, but we figured we'd find something for everyone to eat. This was one of the best meals we ever had! The place was packed on a Tuesday night, great band playing, it was fun and loud - but not... More

My husband and I spent the day at universal and then went to El Compadre for dinner at the suggestion of a friend who used to live here. What a great tip! We got lucky that they had a table for 2, but other parties were waiting 20-30 minutes for a table. I couldn't believe how packed it was for... More

We visited El Compadre on recommendation when we were visiting Hollywood. Fantastic atmosphere, great live music and authentic Mexican food. Highly recommended! Great Margaritas, and home made nachos with guacamole and (very) hot sauce put on all the tables with drinks.

Was looking for a decent Mexican restaurant to have lunch at when I arrived in West Hollywood. A friend recommended this restaurant. Chips and salsa were dropped off at our table and I ordered the beef burritos. The chips were very good and both salsas (mild and hot) were really good. The burrito plate came with rice and beans and... More

Went with my kids. Loved the food and the attention we received. My kids are picky about Mexican food, but they absolutely enjoyed the Tacos, and Burritos. Their rice and beans were an absolute delight.

I have heard many wonderful things about this restaurant. While the atmosphere is amazing, the set-up is almost an old school mexico, with a live band playing; the food was not to my liking. I have definitely had worse, but I have also had better. My mistake may have been that I ordered the one cuban dish on the menu.... More

Last night in Los Angeles and we wanted to go Mexican but we also had some other working commitments after dinner and it should have been closed to the hotel and quick...someone suggested this place and we went...ahah ..we knew it was not what we were looking for from the beginning but we loved the idea to try and tried...unfortunately... Mexican restaurant, always full...full...full but worth waiting (or reserving, much better). We heard it was the best Margarita in LA. This is. Definitely. The restaurant itself is nice too, live music, typical mexican seats and tables, excellent food.
