I was so surprised and pleased to see that they haven't changed the decor in this restaurant since probably the 1960s. It's very clean and well kept but retains a charm of a diner from many years ago. The food was outstanding. I had the...More

This Jewish-style deli's are falling by the wayside everyday. People who can afford to pay want nouvelle, they want hip, they want loud, they want glamah!! This is old-school. It's drab and the clientelle don't necessarily look good. But the food hits the spot!! Choose...More

Step back into the past at Canter's Deli. This place has been going strong for over 84 years. We visit Canter's routinely on visits to Los Angeles...been coming here for 30 years now, for a reason. This is the one of the original, and best,...More

Grew up in the Bronx...so I know a little about delis. This one is authentic. The chopped liver appetizer was great with chopped onions, egg whites and schmaltz. Corned beef on rye was lean and juicy. I needed a deli fix and was delighted.

Maybe my expectations were too high but I was disappointed. The pastrami wasn't very moist, though the service was excellent. I think I would like to try Canter's again based on its reputation.

Canter's Deli is definitely an experience you should check out once. It is a classic jewish deli and an neighborhood institution. It has a bakery in the front where you can buy some amazing pastries. There is a bar and a dinner house. We ate...More

Visited Canter's for the first time in 20 years and found it is still as good as always. Authentic deli food. Had the Bronx special with pastrami and chopped liver, can't get more authentic than that. Delicious. Unfortunately the portion sizes are not as big...More
