You will love this restaurant and the two marvelous ladies who own and work it. Delicious, creative menu. Tasty, fresh, and fun food. Entertaining environment. A favorite of all who come. Don't miss their invention...the bacon donut. Great hash. Hec, it's all wonderful. Our "Go to" place when in downtown LA. Save room for their deserts.

Fun restaurant in downtown L.A. It is an old-fashion diner in the best sense of the word, updated but still has an old feel. It is not a chain restaurant made to look old. No reservations accepted. Went on a Wednesday night after reading about their Fried Chicken Wednesday specials. Beer is served. Service was attentive and helpful, especially as... More

Step back into the past, historic downtown Los Angeles where lunch dishes used to cost a nickel. Well they don't anymore but the menu hasn't changed and the food is still the same nourishing and friendly. Cool old fashioned diner interior, impeccable service, low prices. Comfort food. We were very happy here. A gem and an historic treasure.

I went in here before OK. It was really to use ladies room. I bought breakfast so as usual around over priced not that much. Not good not bad mediocre. Waiter gone into calling me ma'am over and over I hate. I should not tip him but polite. I had to remind him coffee refill for $3. He pointed to... More

A definite breakfast, lunch or dinner. We stumbled on this place by chance....we googled dinner in LA and this came up with a good review all around. So after an afternoon of exploring the area we chose this place to eat. We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in the heart of downtown. Delicious beef stew over mashed... More

Good service, typical breakfast.... the real motivation to come here are the desserts! So for that reason alone its "very good". All of the desserts are prepared by an in house pastry chef and you can tell. The pies, cakes, donuts and pop-tarts have always been fresh and full of sweet flavor. My favorite dessert - the pop-tart, if only... More

This is a fun, casual place to visit for breakfast or lunch. The staff were great and the food was awesome! Definitely recommend it you're in the area. Note it's closed Mondays.

Don't be discouraged by the uninspired menu. There's a creative spark here, but it's not always evident. The house salad, with the citrus dressing option, is truly a dinner salad, with an an expected variety of flavors and texture. Something ordinary becomes extraordinary. The only reason for withholding a fourth star is that the bean soup arrived at room temperature,... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
