The food was really good and the dessert was yummy. The place was hopping with people and parties. We did call ahead seating and lucked out with no wait. If you are looking for a quiet night, this is NOT your place. If you like the buzz and excitement - go for it. The kitchen is open so fun to... More

What a wonderful dinner! We had excellent service and food. This place is hopping! Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, but it is worth the wait.

We walked into Bottega Louie on a Thursday evening and the place was hopping. While we waited for a dinner table (30 min) we sat in the bar area and ordered drinks and appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were outstanding and the asparagus stalks were large and flavorful. Our dinner started with a simple fresh mozzarella pizza that had a delicious... More

So much to choose, and all are so good. This is a casual fun place. Kitchens are open, so you can watch the chefs busy at preparing some wonderful choices. Pizza, meatballs, burratta and tomato salad. The hangar steak and chicken dishes are excellent. Filled with flavor. I want to return and try more. Desserts are to die for, especially... More

The Macaroons and beignets are to die for here and worth the stop! Sooo good! We stopped in for breakfast which was simple and easy. I wished we could have come for dinner too. We parked in a nearby parking garage and it was a short walk since it is in down town LA.

Went here for a late lunch on a Friday, lovely little dishes, leaning towards Italian fare. Waiters are very friendly. Food came very quickly. The dessert selection is very gourmet and amazing as well.

Start off in the bar for one of the quality special drinks. The ward8 with rye is my favorite there! To start, I suggest the caprese salad and gaspacho. The lobster Mage is outstanding as well. The cioppino is my favorite as well as the scallops or any of the chicken selections. I have never had a bad dessert and... More

I really enjoyed our trip to Bottega Louie. Food was good, staff were welcoming. The place was quite loud, I like a good atmosphere but I know some people prefer quieter dining. The place is great inside too, very well decorated and presented. The have a small deli in there too.

i was looking for a place to eat after a concert and found this romantic and enchanted location. Too much noise at the entrance may persuade you to continue however, once you walked in to the host stand you will realize that the high ceilings and white decor offers the necessary space for you to have a decent conversation. I... More

A friend who lives in LA recommended I stop here for a meal. I was expecting a small secluded french bistro. Instead I got delightfully grande withg an LA touch. I was by myself so I did not wait for a table in the main restaurant. I sat in the bistro section which was just as nice and servers wait... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
