This is a solid restaurant but nothing special. The pizza was good with a nice thin crust but nothing memorable. They do let you mix pizza toppings which is nice. The fried mushrooms really weren't worth the hype on other reviews. I wouldn't bother ordering them. The macaroons were delicious.

Big. Loud. Noisy. Usually busy. Big menu. Good food, well-prepared. There's a reason it's the most popular mid- to high-end restaurant in central L.A. Yes it's slightly pricey. But somebody's gotta lead the way opening an upscale place in the middle of downtown L.A. I'd rather patronize a place like here in it's current location than in some sanitized bland... More

It's ridiculously fancy place, prices are high, but not tasty at all!! And the location....omg. This a place of contrast- fancy place in a middle of filthy, garbage packed downtown Los Angeles. It was a huge disappointment!!!

Sunday afternoon after the theater we had an early supper and we were very pleased! If you are tired and bored of the same ol, same ol' fare, try Bottega Louie. You will always have to wait so try to make a reservation, The place is extremely noisy so try to sit towards the back and near the window if... More

Went to Bottega Louie before a concert at The Greek. As most places in LA, it is tough to get to on a Friday. We had a great dinner - shared a pizza and caprese salad. Both were very good. We had a lot of pizza leftover and took it home. The prices are pretty average for LA. The service... More

Ordered 2 porchetta sandwiches, which are supposed to be roast pork sandwiches, to go minus aioli, coleslaw and arugula. Ended up getting some nasty pork which want even roasted pork!! The pork looked like it was just boiled!! Simply horrible pork mixed with peppers, onions and what looked to be cilantro!! Not a good tasting sandwich at all.

My teenage daughter wanted to try these colorful and popular treats. The drive from our stay was pretty slow due to traffic. The macaroons were 13 for $40! I thought that was very expensive. She ended up not liking one of them so it was a waste for us. I believe they are probably an acquired taste and others may... More

Didn't get to dine here during my last visit but I made sure I did this time and it did not disappoint. The service and food were both excellent - we ordered the brussel sprouts, meatballs and ravioli to share (ravioli was incredible) then had the penne and chicken for main course and ended with the beignets with raspberry and... We had to wait in line, on a Sunday night, to have dinner at Bottega Louis. It was worth it. The food was really delicious and well worth the wait. The ambiance is very Europeon, and the waiters very attentive. Our only problem was the noise. Basically, it's a very large room and a very high ceiling so it is... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
