Just a superb family style little restaurant in the sleepy town of Lake Isabella. Don’t let the sleepy fool you, they provide high quality food and a nicely varied menu from breakfast to dinner. All cooked fresh and delicious with not a preservative in sight....Love this new find.More

I had to write a review because the most recent ones I see are from 2014. The owners have redone the whole place including the menu. service is better, food is better. There's so much food on your plate it's hard to eat all of...it! The inside is updated and beautiful. The only thing I don't like is the acoustics. It's very echo-y and loud when it's busy. They are closed for dinner, but have an attached, separate side of the building with a different name and menu. Also very good.More

I eat regularly at the Dam Korner. The food here is very good especially the Avocado Burger and the Avocado-Cod Salad. The waitress and staff are very kind and happy to serve you. This is the only place I eat in town weather by myself...or with a guest. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat healthy food and a nice family environment. Vincent P. CordovaMore

The Food at the Dam Korner is great. The food at Dickweeds, well not as great. We had a large group and came at 5:30 and most of us left at 8! Some waited to get their desserts, others were not even offered dessert. My...food tasted good, but was cold. We had reservations, and they knew that there was going to be a large group, they just were not prepared for it.More

We swung by and they were busy but not too busy to be friendly. Great shops and a perfect place to pick up supplies.

I just started frequenting the Dam Korner but so far the food has been good, the waitresses are pleasant. The wait is a little bit so if your not in a hurry take a seat and enjoy the coffee and the small town company.

Stopped for quick breakfast. Big portions, very tasty. Potato egg scramble was quite good. Historic location, lots of nostalgia on the walls.

Ok, this isn’t a 5 star establishment but the staff was nice and the food was good. Portions were plenty large. Service is a little slow so plan accordingly.

...decided to give it a try. They serve breakfast until 3 so I ordered chicken fried steak and gravy. Came with eggs, potatoes, and toast (or biscuit). Portions were large, food was good, waitress was friendly and attentive. No real downside for me.

Arrived to see a recently decorated venue, which I must say was nicely decorated. However, that's where the niceness ended. The staff were not very welcoming or smiley throughout the entire stay. I ordered a stack of pancakes, and the Eggs Benedict. To my disappointment,...the hollandaise sauce was runny, a lot browner than I've ever seen one, and tasted like nothing I've ever tasted before. It was disgusting. The pancakes were also a big disappointment; they were so dry that when I lifted my fork to my mouth they would just crumble/disintegrate mid air! Having mentioned this to my (local) friend, they said that they would have recommended I eat elswhere, had I asked him. Anyways, long story short, if you have low standards as far as food taste goes, then by all means check this place out. If on the other hand, you like good tasting food with comparable standards of service, then seek out somewhere else!More

Breakfast around 9 am, not busy in the cafe. Took 40 minutes to get the food. I ordered a vegetarian omelette which had bits of bacon inside, spinich and tomato were not drained so it was soupy as well. Mate ordered an onion free omelette,...server marked it on the ticket and verified. Onions were throughout the omelette. This was taken off ticket which was nice business practice. Unfortunately, the potatoes were not freshly cooked nor were the pancakes. Coffee is industrial restaurant brand. There are better breakfast cafes in the area.More

My wife and I ate breakfast here while staying in the local area. We were driving, trying to get out the door early to get started on our day and needed somewhere to get a hearty breakfast rather than choosing to cook or microwave something...where we were staying. We saw the reviews on here for Dam Korner and figured we'd give it a shot. Glad we did! We both had a variant of eggs benedict, coffee and orange juice from here. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere lively and welcoming that morning. Definitely recommend if you want a locally based spot to get your diner type breakfast food whether staying in town or just passing through.More
