This small pleasant local eatery was an easy walk from our bed and breakfast and we stopped for lunch. I had the soup and half sandwich combination, clam chowder and tuna salad on multi grain bread. The serving sizes were generous and the food was very good.

The weather was nice so we had lunch in a friendly place outside. They also have a collection of pastries that can be enjoyed for breakfast or lunch with a shake, smoothie, coffee, or tea. They have healthy items available for breakfast like bagel & lox, fruit cup, granola, or a breakfast salad. For lunch you can enjoy a salad,... More

The Brick and Bell is a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seatings in the center of La Jolla. They serve the standard pastries and coffee. Still a nice place for a short break or a pick me up

We had heard about the scones and couldn't wait to try them. To be honest, they were fine, but not amazing! The person who waited on me seemed impatient and annoyed, as my 3 and 5 year olds made decisions on which scone to order. If you go, be sure to order some mini scones ($1).

The bacon was obviously the pre-cooked bacon you can buy at the grocery store and takes 2 minutes to microwave. The scrambled eggs were dry. The raisin scone wasn't anything special. You order at the register and then someone brings your food to the table. I gave a 20% tip. When the women brought the food to the table I... More

Scones here are excellent! I had not planed to get any; however, there was a mix up with my tea order and the staff very graciously made up for it with 2 free scones. Lovely little shop; highly recommed this coffee shop/bakery over the normal "chain" coffee shops.
