For well over a hundred dollars, food was really mediocre. I never write reviews because I've been there, but after talking to my lady this AM, I'm sharing. Over cooked seafood, mostly tasteless. My opinion is, that for really uninspiring food, cost is not over priced, it's ridiculous. Service was wonderful. Wine was just fine. Just the food....three items. I... More

I took my mom here for her birthday last month, because Roys was running a special where you get an Entree, Apetizer, and Dessert for $37 per person on a Sunday or Monday. I combined this with the Roys $100 gift cards for $80 that they sell in Costcos, and we got out of here for $80 for the two... More

Since we live within walking distance of Roy's, we thought we would try Happy Hour there around 4pm. By 5pm the place was really filling up with serious Happy Hour people at the bar. My husband had the Kalua Pork Sliders and said they were very good, but a bit dry.I had the Szechuan Spiced Ribs, smoked and glazed in... More

It all made sense when I realized it was Hawaiian fusion. If you enjoy sweet and savory in just about every bite, this is the place for you (and me!). The ribs fell off the bone, and the butterfish was like "butter". As simple as it may sound, don't miss the dumplings. The staff I felt came from two extremes;... More

Our boss brought us here for lunch. We had a reservation. The restaurant was extremely disorganized. Slow to take our orders. We all ordered lunch plates--soup, salad, entree and cookies. Half came without the salad--the server said she would bring them later. She never did. No cookies ever arrived. My entree consisted of three tiny pieces of tofu and a... More

We had a reservation and when we walked in there were 1 or 2 other tables taken in a very large dining room. Even though there were no people there, service was slow. The rib appetizer was good, but the Eggs Benedict over crab cakes was terrible. Biscuit on the bottom was doughy, not cooked, the eggs were hard, and... More

Great food but too pricey for us. Love their happy hours prices and food. Best way to taste their reasonably portioned appetizers. Loved thier butterfly fish or something like that on their main menu. It literally melts in your mouth

Has Roy's installed new management within the past six months? We have been going to Roy's UTC for many years. Until recently, there were two parking spaces allocated Disabled Parking to the left of the front door.. Last week we noticed one space had been removed. Why? Does having only one Disabled Parking spot meet the ADA code for required... More

We went to Roy's as part of team lunch. Atmosphere was great and felt very festive. Amazing food, amazing ambiance & great service. I ordered fresh green salad & Teppanyaki Shrimp. Shrimp was amazingly crunchy, Juicyand tasty. In the end I ordered Belgian chocolate Torte, It was heaven. It came with berries and vanilla mousse. Also Lobster Potstickers, 3 pieces... More

It was a rainy day in San Diego and we needed a place that wasn't outdoors. Very disappointed with this establishment as the prices were high, service was below average and food was barely acceptable. When you spend $100 per person, you should be able to have your water glass filled. Chef signature dish, the fish trio, was bleh. I... More
