First of all this restaurant has moved to 7061 Clairemont Mesa Blvd which was formerly a sports bar with minimum modifications so it doesn't look like it's former La Jolla location. With that being said, I really enjoyed the lunch with my mother. We were seated very quickly and drink orders were taken right away. Once we finally decided, my... More

I was expecting this place to knock my socks off. I looked at the menu on line and I was very anxious about visiting. When I got there , they only had 3 customers the whole time I was having dinner 6:30-7:30. That should speak volumes about what to expect. The menu choices were great, but the food was mediocre... Although this was one of my favorite restaurants when it was located on La Jolla Village Drive, it has really declined since moving to Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. The acoustics in the new location are very poor which makes for a noisy atmosphere. The service is still excellent, but the food has declined as well. None of the beef dishes, whether... More

We’d eaten at Elijah’s in La Jolla several times before it closed and liked it. This last trip to San Diego we had some extra time, so found the deli’s new place in a San Diego strip mall. Wow, what a change. While the old location had a certain rustic, rough-around-the-edges charm, the new Elijah’s is thoroughly modern. It doesn’t... More

Four of us went for dinner. Both couples shared food. My husband and I shared Matzo Ball soup and a Ruben. Our service was excellent. Our server came back without prompting and filled our water glasses.she filled our orders correctly. I did not realize there was not a cup of matzo ball soup. Two bowls was toooooo much. She offered... More

The corned beef on rye was a master piece built by trained professionals in the art of a true deli, this meal stands alone with perfect flavor without the need for dressing but if you like sauerkraut you can't go wrong.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner catered to us during our stay in San Diego. It was delivered on time and everything was delicious--Carved turkey, dressing, yams, roasted vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple pie, rolls & butter. More time for sightseeing and less time in the kitchen! We are planning on a repeat next year!

Went there expecting the usual warm welcoming atmosphere. It has now moved to a large ,stark, unfriendly modern block! There is NO DELI????Ordered hot corned beef sandwich, whilst also ordered chicken in the pot. We were told there are no longer pickles????A corned beef sandwich with NO PICKLES???The sandwich was very small and dry? The chicken in the pot was awful, looked awful tasted... More

Elijah's had to move their location from La Jolla Village Square to Clairemont Mesa Blvd. We were concerned that they would lose a lot of their customers. But the restaurant has recovered and appears to be doing well. The food here has always been excellent and the service has always been great. This appears to be a truly well run,... More
