It's not listed here, but the Burger Stand out front is open all day and serves up ground beef from the steakhouse in perfect delicious patties with shredded lettuce and thousand island dressing to rival In-N-Out and the best of them. Don't forget to grab...a milkshake (malted if you want) and their delicious homemade fries. We were camping a couple miles away at Limestone and literally ate here 2 days in a row, ignoring all the great camping food we brought because it was that good! Sit outside under the trees and forget about cooking. Or take your burger to your campsite and make your neighbors jealous. Yum.More

We tried McNally's on Valentine's Day. Seems the staff was not prepared for the large amount of patrons. We stood at the bar to get a drink, no one looked up at us, no hello, I'll be right with you, for several minutes. My husband...and I ordered the rib eye special. The best part of the meal was the delicious bread and baked potato. Our steaks were a little tuff, dull steak knives didn't help. I prefer my steak FIRE grilled not pan seared. The little petite gal that was our server was so sweet and attentive. She deserves recognition. I cant remember her name it started with a "J". Not sure if we will give it another try.More

We traveled here from Bakersfield to try something different. It took us about 1 hour and half to arrive at McNally's. It is a old rustic restaurant with deer heads and old time antiques for decorations. The bar opens about 4:30pm and the restaurant opens...at 5:00 pm. We were a total of 4 people and where excited to have some steaks. I decided to have the 40 oz. Logger and the others had 2 filet mignon and 1 rib eye steak. It comes with a vegetable platter, salad or soup and bread. We also tried the mushrooms and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer which where very good. Everyone enjoyed their steaks and I demolished the porterhouse and got my bumper sticker and pencil for completing the task...lololo. I would recommend if you are in the area or traveling to give them a try and try the logger, if you can!More

Holy smokes, they have a huge steak that if you eat the whole thing you receive a bumper sticker and log pencil. My cousin enjoyed meeting the challenge while the rest of us had our steak or chicken dinners. Everything was very good. It's a...bit out of town, but a lovely drive through the mountains.More

We ordered the Fairview special (filet and grilled shrimp) and the 14oz. NY strip. I had a little issue with getting the NY strip cooked medium (too rare), but they did fix it. We tried to be very clear on the cooking instructions, but this...can happen. The filet was excellent, as were the grilled shrimp, the salads were basic, but very fresh. We ordered the sauteed mushrooms, which were outstanding, highly recommended. Really liked the meal starting with a relish tray which had some very tasty pickles made in house. The location is a bit remote, but I understand they have great burgers and the convenience store seem nice as well. They open the bar at 4:30pm and start serving at 5:00pm.More

This restaurant is the best. It's a drive to get there from the town Kernville but really worth it. There steaks are amazing. Very tasty and the portions are huge. The service is great. Try the hamburger stand outside the restaurant. You will be blown...away how great that burger taste. Whenever we go to Kernville we make it a point to stop at McNally's either for the burgers or dinner.More

The dinner house is superb. Best steaks around at a reasonable price. Great service. Opens at 5. During the day the burger bar is open. Great cheese burgers. Both are well worth the drive from Kernville. Highly recommended

Has changed hands. Reduced menu. No Rib-eye or Prime Rib. However, steaks were cooked right. Small salad. Not much in the way of veggies. Cocktails were good. Irish Mule was very tasty.

Did not eat at the lodge but stopped at the burger stand. Great burger while sitting outside enjoying the scenery. There was no place to sit on a Tuesday afternoon so that should say something about this place..Take a walk over to the suspension bridge

Johnny McNally has gone from us, but his lodge carries on. As always, the meat items are top shelf, beautifully prepared. Fish items are usually good. It would be a 5 star place but for two things: Side/vegetable dishes that are lacking, and a short...unimpressive wine and beer list. It's a nice drive north of Kernville, or add 12 miles from Isabella Lake, pretty spot on the Kern River, rustic atmosphere, so we still like to go. I just wish they would upgrade their vegetable and side dish game.More
