We had breakfast here before heading into the national forest. Servers were great- prompt and friendly. I had a delicious veggie omelet that came with hash browns and a homemade biscuit. My husband had eggs and corned beef hash. The hash was made with chunks of shredded corned beef. Really good! Ate outside as necessary due to Covid. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was so good. We couldn't decide if it was the eggs or the pancakes that were best - i guess a tie, although my wife liked the thick slice of ham. We went back on our second morning while we were in town. Good thing we don't live there or we would become quite overweight from eating the good food all the time.

This was a fantastic find for us. We were visiting the area and really just wanted a solid breakfast option. This was it. We had great food. The nine year old had a giant pancake, mom had a breakfast sandwich on Texas Toast with O’Brien potatoes, and I had chicken fried steak and eggs. All three meals were 5 out of 5. Large portions, tasty, and perfectly cooked. The sandwich was large enough that she brought half home and ate it later and still raved about the flavor. The staff were over-the-top friendly. The food arrived quickly for a sit down meal. We paid about $20 a head (including drinks). That is reasonable for the area but folks from other states may be surprised. Great place. We already recommended it and will be back.

We ordered here for breakfast on Saturday July 25 after reading reviews on how good the breakfast is here. Sorry to say, I completley disagree with the reviews. I had a breakfast sandwich, it was bland even with the bacon there seemed to be a lack of basic salt and pepper which would have added enough flavoring i could have enjoyed it. I couldn't even finish the first half of the sandwich. My husband had the corned beef hash breakfast with a side of the biscuits and gravy that people raved about. Sadly again, we were very disappointed. The corned beef hash eventhough fresh and not out of a can was again lacking in any seasoning or flavor, no salt, no pepper, just bland. Same for the sausage gravy, just bland. Won't be eating there again.

Spent some time up in Kern July 15-17. Had breakfast at Cheryl's Diner which was pretty good and great service and also at the Cracked Egg Cafe. Ordered an egg white omelet with potatoes and dry sour dough toast. Everything arrived sopping in whatever oil they use to cook with, sour dough was slathered in butter. I know a lot of people are ok with food prepared this way but it could have been so much better with little to no extra cost or effort. I personally cook a lot and know what it takes. Disappointed!

We went here for breakfast. It was well worth it. The omelettes are excellent! They are huge! Couldn’t eat all of it. Everything is fresh. The hash browns are fresh. They don’t sandbag em and wait for you to show up. Bacon and sausage are good and hot in the omelette when you get it. Even the coffee is good. It’s not old and bitter, it’s gentle on my sensitive stomach. Toast is perfect. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. If you go be prepared to get your money’s worth. We will definitely be back.

This little breakfast/lunch restaurant in Kernville has really good home-cooked breakfast. We didn't try it for lunch.

I had breakfast as did my wife. This is an old fashioned dinner where the space is limited and it's sort of old but was clean. The food was excellent but they took their time preparing their food

The idiots put the bread in the same continer as the salad, left out the salad dressing and sliverware. Even after tipping them $5-$20 each time. Don't bother.

We wanted to get an early start, so arrived about 20 minutes before the scheduled opening time. Lots of folks were already there. It was fabulous. Great food, generous portions, very friendly staff and customers. Highly recommended.

Tried a few places in Kernville for breakfast, this was by far the best! My wife had the corned beef hash (with biscuit and gravy) while I had the Country skillet (came with 2 rounds of toast). Struggled to eat everything, so we had cartons to take the balance away with us - heated them up for next day’s breakfast. Both dishes were well prepared and delicious, while the value for money was amazing! This is THE place to eat!!

Full on good breakfast in a real greasy spoon. Nothing special, but hearty good food. Think fried eggs and home fries.

2nd time eating breakfast here. Breakfast was okay but it took an hour & a half from the time we sat down in the patio until we set our forks down. Well into the lunch hour by then. Something about having small grills. I think it was slow the last time too. So figure it out !!! Also, pour a concrete slab in the patio area. Picnic tables on the dirt is kinda ridiculous.
