Consistently good sushi with good service. Easy to grab a late bite after wondering around the Americana.

Katsuya at the Americana is our favorite restaurant whenever we visit our family in L. A. All of us, ten people, young and old love every dish - they are all amazing. Now - a TIP: they have a "HAPPY HOUR" that is the best bargain around- from 3.00 to 5.00 dining outside in the garden and from 5.00 to... More
This was my third time at Katsuya. Food was simply okay. Nothing stood out and service is constantly mediocre. Sat inside since it's winter and has been colder than usual in Southern CA. Not sure that it was any warmer inside than it was outside. We kept our jackets on the entire time.
The service was awful. They delivered our food to the wrong table and we never got served. One dish came out. When we questioned where the others were after 30 minutes they said its coming. Finally, someone, (not our waitress) realized we were not being picky and tried to get the order to us. 3 out of 4... the last... More
It is not the finest Japanese restaurant in California but it is very very good one and probably relation price quality the very best. Try the Sakes are very very tasty. I would come back definitely.
The waitress recommended that we order food family style (to share with everyone in our party) because they have a hot & cold kitchen and the two aren't in sync. So someone maybe waiting for food while others are already eating. We followed her suggestion and everything turned out GREAT. FYI: They validate for regular parking but not for valet... More
I have never been to Katsuya but to a ton of other sushi places and definitely, at least this location, goes to the bottom of the list. When you balance price/quality, whole experience, etc... you could find same or better quality somewhere else. I had spicy edamame, hamachi rolls and assorted sashimi. The sashimi was fresh.... well, this is a... More
I use to go to the original Katsuya in studio city. This Katsuya does not compare to the original. The worst service I have ever had. The edemome took one hour to get. The food had a long string in it. I got disgusted and said I don't want our food. The manager was so rude came and had an... More
One of my favorite sushi restaurants. It has a great atmosphere whether you sit inside with the carefully balanced modern feel with traditional Japanese elements or outside with a view of the huge fountain with hourly musically synchronized fountain show, the dining experience is fantastic. The food is always very fresh. Lots of options although not as many as some... More
