Long wait on weekends, but consistently good food and great value. Love the meatloaf dinner and the ham steak breakfast. I like how the menus feature local stories and history from the past (one menu even had a relative, Raymond Gwinn, featured on the cover some years ago with a story about the elementary school in Morgan Hill). Appreciated the... More

I have been to this location several times for different meals and I try to not repeat what I have already tried. This visit I had the New York steak with all the sides. I wasn't expecting the best piece of meat ever but I was hoping that it being a better cut of meat would make a difference. I... More

Love the Black Bear especially for breakfast! The waitstaff is especially welcoming. We go there whenever we are in Gilroy.

This place is ran by nice smiley hosatees people but a bit rushed. If you ask for water to figure out what to pair you meal with, that's your drink for the meal. (At least my waiter seemed too rushed to care what I wanted with my meal). Desserts are large enough to share, this is not a normal comment... More

Stopped here twice while visiting Gilroy Gardens. Stayed at the hotel next to it so we could walk over. The place was busy but accommodating to our larger group. The portions were huge and the food was just as billed, old fashioned American comfort food. Excellent quality. They have wine but we had to ask specifically about it. Good serving... More

So my food was a 1. Ordered pancakes. They were raw in the middle. I mean liquid raw. When I called the server over before I even said anything she said, "they're raw" If you knew that don't serve it. She did comp them and brought me out a free pancake. My granddaughters fist pancake was ok the second was... More

This restaurant offered the same meal in differing sizes and prices, which seemed like a good idea. However the smaller version didn't offer much of a price or size break; there was still way too much food for me. I had the pot roast which had mounds of separate mashed potatoes with some gravy on top. The pot roast came... More
