9 of us went to brunch a couple of Sundays ago and we did make a reservation. They were extremely crowded and we waited for around 15 minutes. I had the Huevos Rancheros with a Matador Margarita and they were delicious. The other members in...More

We ordered the short rib and chicken enchiladas, which were good. I had to send my chicken chile relleno back because it was not hot. When they gave me a new one within minutes, the rice was cold. There was what seemed like a Panko...More

$12/pp for unlimited mimosa/champagne. Bargain! It doesn't hurt that their breakfast burritos, lobster omelet were also excellent. They even customized it for you. I wanted the flexibility of the make-your-own burrito, but didn't want all the carbs with the tortillas. The waitress was happy to...More

All of their food is very good. However, they have the best Taco Tuesday. Great price and great flavor. They also have great variety - Carnitas, Chicken, Carne Asada, fish and shrimp. The latter two can be grilled, breaded or Cajun Style. They also have...More

This is a very nice place to dine with a good variety of mexican favorites. They have opened a new section, and is the only restaurant in Fullerton that offers a full Tequila tasting. Enjoy!

This isn't just standard Mexican food, although you can get that. They have some creative menu items that are really fantastic!

Description
Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Fullerton, the Matador Cantina offers a fresh fusion of traditional and contemporary Mexican-inspired cuisine, as well as a full bar with premium tequilas and signature Margaritas. In addition to fresh house-made sangria, the Matador also features a boutique selection of Spanish, Californian, and South American wines. Guests may dine in cozy leather booths and traditional high-top seating in the main bar/dining area, or in the lounge with wraparound leather banquette, lounge tables and cushion ottomans. Exposed historic brick walls, hand-made wrought iron chandeliers, and an impressive candle-lit wall creates a warm and decidedly intimate ambiance. Original oil-on-canvas paintings and a magnificent iron bullhead statuette further hint to the space’s extraordinary décor. Ample and convenient parking located at the rear of the restaurant off Commonwealth Avenue. Open for Lunch, Dinner, Brunch, and late night.
